10、音机爱 好者资料库ENGLISHTroubleshootingFor the ControllerIf you experience any of the following difficultieswhile using the system, use this troubleshootingguide to help you remedy the problem. Should any problem persist, consult your author-ized Harman Kardon dealer.No power. Is the power cord firmly plugg

11、ed into thepower outlet? One of the safety mechanisms may be operat-ing. In this event, unplug the player from thepower outlet briefly and then plug it in again.No picture. Check that the system is connected correctlyand securely. The video cable may be damaged. Replace itwith a new one. Make sure t

12、he system is connected to a videoinput on the TV (see page 12). Make sure the TV is turned on. Make sure the correct video input on the TV isselected for viewing with this system.Noise (interference) appears in the picture. Clean the disc. If video from this system has to go throughyour VCR to get t

13、o your TV, the copy-protectionapplied to some DVD programs could affectpicture quality. If you still experience pro blemsafter checking your connecti ons, please try con-necting your DVD system directly to your TVsS-Video input.The aspect ratio of the screen is wrong(picture vertically expanded) whe

14、n youplay a wide picture by the player or anexternal source connected to the screeneven though you set “TV DISPLAY” in theSETUP menu to Auto. If you connect the system or the externalsource with the SCART cable, connect directlyto the TV. Otherwise the autoswitch function ofthe aspect ratio for the

15、TV may not work. If the TV is not connected with a SCART cableto the DL (as recommended) or the externalsource, or if the autoswitch function does notwork you should turn the TV to Fill All.There is no sound or volume is very low Check that the speakers and components areconnected correctly and secu

16、rely. Make sure that you have selected the correctsource on the system. Press MUTE on the remote control, if thewords MUTE ON are blinking on the frontpanel display. The protective circuitry has been activatedbecause of a short circuit. Turn off the system,eliminate the short circuit problem and tur

17、n onthe power again. The audio interconnect is damaged. Replace itwith a new one. The system is in pause mode or in slow-motionplay mode, or fast forward or fast reverse. Press Nto return to normal play mode. Check the speaker settings (see page 31).The left and right channels are unbalanced or reve

18、rsed. Check that the speakers and components areconnected correctly and securely.Severe hum or noise is heard. Check that the speakers and components areconnected securely. Check that the connecting cords are away froma transformer or motor and at least 3 metersaway from fluorescent light. Move your

19、 TV away from the audio compo-nents. The plugs and jacks are dirty. Wipe them with acloth slightly moistened with alcohol. Clean the disc. Disconnect antenna cables from externalsources (also PC) connected to the screen orsystem. If hum disappears use an antennatransfomer between antenna and source.

20、 If PC is connected to the system disconnect theAudio and Video cables. If hum disappears usean audio transformer between PC audio outand system input. If hum persists unplug PCfrom your system and ask your local dealer fora proper solution (ground loop interrupt).The volume goes down automatically

21、and cannot be increased. The internal temperature is too high. Waitapproximately one minute for the amplifier toreach normal working temperature.Radio stations cannot be tuned in. Check that the antenna is connected correctly.Adjust the antenna and connect an externalantenna if necessary. The signal

22、 strength of the stations is too weakfor automatic tuning. Use manual tuning. No stations have been preset. The tuner mode is not selected, select theRadio mode.The remote does not function. Remove any obstacles between the remotecontrol and the system. Move the remote control closer to the system.

23、Point the remote control at the remote sensoron the front panel. Replace all the batteries in the remote controlwith new ones if they are weak. Check that the batteries are loaded correctly.The disc does not play. There is no disc inside. (“NO DISC” appears onthe front panel display and the TV scree

24、n.)Insert a disc. Insert the disc correctly with the playback sidefacing down. Clean the disc. The system cannot play CD-ROMs, etc. (see page 3). DVD with wrong region code (see page 18).Playback stops automatically. Some discs include an auto pause signal. Whenplaying such a disc, the system stops

Depending on the DVD or VCD, some of theabove operations may not be available(Playback control).Messages do not appear on the TV screenin the language you want. Select the language for Display and PreferredSubtitle in the SETUP menu (see page 22).

27、For all messages from the DVD (DVD menu,subtitles) in the proper language, the discmust have the language you selected, if not,another language will be selected.The audio language cannot be changedwhen you play a DVD. Multilingual sound is not recorded on theDVD. Changing the language for the sound

28、by theAudio button on the remote or the Audio linein the Player Menu is prohibited on the DVD.In that case the audio language must beselected by the main menu on the DVD.The subtitle language cannot be changedwhen you play a DVD. Multilingual subtitles are not recorded on theDVD. Changing the langua

29、ge for the subtitles by theSubtitle button on the remote or the Subtitleline in the Player Menu is prohibited on theDVD. In that case the subtitle language mustbe selected by the main menu on the DVD.The subtitles cannot be turned off whenyou play a DVD. Depending on the DVD, you may not be ableto t

30、urn the subtitles off.The angles cannot be changed when youplay a DVD. Multi-angles are not recorded on most DVDs. Change the angles when the angle markappears on the TV screen. Changing the angles is prohibited on someDVDs.The system does not operate properly. Static electricity, etc., may affect t

31、he systemsoperation.Disconnect the AC power cord, then connect itagain.Please also refer to the Trouble shootingguide contained in your loudspeakerOwners ManualNo picture although the mains plug isinserted and the unit is switched on.Screen dark.Weak or excessive colours.The picture is too large or

32、too small.The displayed picture is too dark.The picture is displayed, but there is no sound.Horizontal stripes with TV or video signals. Mains switch in position ”0” (OFF). Mains plug of unit is not inserted into the plug receptacle. The HDMI cable is not properly inserted. Defective mains cable. Co

33、ntrast setting too low. No input signal, wrong input selected. Colour not correctly set. Connection cable not correctly connected. Picture format set wrongly. The picture quality is not set correctly. The sound is switched to mute. The Coaxial Digital Audio cable is not properlyinserted. Volume is s

34、et to minimum. Signal source is placed in front of the display. Shift mains switch to position ”I”. Insert the mains cable plug into the plug receptacle. Insert the HDMI cable firmly. Call the service hotline. Set the brightness and/or contrast correctly(see Picture Calibration). Check the connectio

35、n cable; assign correctinput to source. Set the colour correctly (see Picture Calibration). Connect the cable correctly. Repeatedly press the Screen Format Button?until the picture is displayed as fullscreen. Correct the picture brightness and contrast (see Picture Calibration) Press the Mute Button

Note that when the Digital Lounge Controller isswitched on, the Power Indicator

39、around thebutton turns white2Eject: Press this button to release a discfrom the loader.3USB On-The-Go Input:This input may beused to temporarily connect a USB thumb deviceor portable hard disk for direct playback ofaudio, image of video files or a USB hub. TheUSB inputs are designed to power a singl

40、e USBdevice at a time. If additional hard disks are connected through a hub it is necessary thatadditional external power supplies are used topower the hub and hard disks.4Headphone Jack:This jack may be used tolisten to the systems output through a pair ofheadphones. Be certain that the headphonesh

41、ave a standard 3.5 mm stereo phone plug.Note that the main room speakers will automatically be turned off when the headphone jack is in use. 5Volume Control:Turn this knob clockwiseto increase the volume, counterclockwise todecrease the volume. If the system is muted, adjusting volume control will a
