When replacing a component identified with, use only the replacement parts designated, or parts with the same ratings or resistance, wattage, or voltage that are designated in theparts
4、 list in this manual. Leakage-current or resistance measurements must be made to determine that exposed parts are acceptablyinsulated from the supply circuit before retuming the product to the customer.Some semiconductor (solid state) devices can be damaged easily by static electricity. Such compone
5、nts commonly are calledElectrostatically Sensitive (ES) Devices. Examples of typical ES devices are integrated circuits and some field effect transistors andsemiconductor chip components.The following techniques should be used to help reduce the incidence of component damage caused by static electri
6、city.1. Immediately before handling any semiconductor component or semiconductor-equipped assembly, drain off any electrostatic charge onyour body by touching a known earth ground. Alternatively, obtain and wear a commercially available discharging wrist strap device,which should be removed for pote
7、ntial shock reasons prior to applying power to the unit under test.2. After removing an electrical assembly equipped with ES devices, place the assembly on a conductive surface such as aluminum foil, toprevent electrostatic charge build-up or exposure of the assembly.3. Use only a grounded-tip solde
8、ring iron to solder or unsolder ES devices.4. Use only an anti-static solder removal device. Some solder removal devices not classified as anti-static can generate electrical chargessufficient to damage ES devices.5. Do not use freon-propelled chemicals. These can generate electrical change sufficie
9、nt to damage ES devices.6. Do not remove a replacement ES device from its protective package until immediately before you are ready to install it. (Most replacementES devices are packaged with leads electrically shorted together by conductive foam, aluminum foil or comparable conductive material.)7.
10、 Immediately before removing the protective material from the leads of a replacement ES device, touch the protective material to thechassis or circuit assembly into which the device will be installed.Be sure no power is applied to the chassis or circuit, and observe all other safety precautions.8. M
11、inimize bodily motions when handling unpackaged replacement ES devices. (Otherwise harmless motion such as the brushing togetheror your clothes fabric or the lifting of your foot from a carpeted floor can generate static electricity sufficient to damage an ES devices.CAUTION : harman/kardonService m

13、nt testerbetween the earth ground and all exposed metal parts of theappliance (input/output terminals, screwheads, metaloverlays, control shaft, etc.). Plug the AC line cord of theappliance directly into a 120V AC 60Hz outlet and turn theAC power switch on. Any current measured must not exceedo.5mA.

28、ause may involvethe erratic operation of the systems memory ormicroprocessor.To correct this problem, first unplug the unit fromthe AC wall outlet and wait at least threeminutes. After the pause, reconnect the ACpower cord and check the units operation. If thesystem still malfunctions, a system rese
29、t mayclear the problem.To clear the AVRs entire system memory includ-ing tuner presets, output level settings, delaytimes and speaker configuration data, first putthe unit in Standby by pressing the SystemPower Control button 2. Next, press theSurround Mode5and the RDSbuttonssimultaneously for three
30、 seconds.The unit will turn on automatically and displaythe RESETmessage in the Main Infor-mation Display .Note that once you havecleared the memory in this manner,it is necessaryto re-establish all system configuration settingsand tuner presets.NOTE: Resetting the processor will erase anyconfigurat
31、ion settings you have made forspeakers, output levels, surround modes, digitalinput assignments as well as the tuner presets.After a reset the unit will be returned to thefactory presets, and all settings for these itemsmust be reentered.If the system is still operating incorrectly, theremay have be
