When replacing a component identified with, use only the replacement parts designated, or parts with
4、 the same ratings or resistance, wattage, or voltage that are designated in theparts list in this manual. Leakage-current or resistance measurements must be made to determine that exposed parts are acceptablyinsulated from the supply circuit before retuming the product to the customer.Some semicondu
5、ctor (solid state) devices can be damaged easily by static electricity. Such components commonly are calledElectrostatically Sensitive (ES) Devices. Examples of typical ES devices are integrated circuits and some field effect transistors andsemiconductor chip components.The following techniques shou
6、ld be used to help reduce the incidence of component damage caused by static electricity.1. Immediately before handling any semiconductor component or semiconductor-equipped assembly, drain off any electrostatic charge onyour body by touching a known earth ground. Alternatively, obtain and wear a co
7、mmercially available discharging wrist strap device,which should be removed for potential shock reasons prior to applying power to the unit under test.2. After removing an electrical assembly equipped with ES devices, place the assembly on a conductive surface such as aluminum foil, toprevent electr
8、ostatic charge build-up or exposure of the assembly.3. Use only a grounded-tip soldering iron to solder or unsolder ES devices.4. Use only an anti-static solder removal device. Some solder removal devices not classified as anti-static can generate electrical chargessufficient to damage ES devices.5.
9、 Do not use freon-propelled chemicals. These can generate electrical change sufficient to damage ES devices.6. Do not remove a replacement ES device from its protective package until immediately before you are ready to install it. (Most replacementES devices are packaged with leads electrically shor
10、ted together by conductive foam, aluminum foil or comparable conductive material.)7. Immediately before removing the protective material from the leads of a replacement ES device, touch the protective material to thechassis or circuit assembly into which the device will be installed.Be sure no power
11、 is applied to the chassis or circuit, and observe all other safety precautions.8. Minimize bodily motions when handling unpackaged replacement ES devices. (Otherwise harmless motion such as the brushing togetheror your clothes fabric or the lifting of your foot from a carpeted floor can generate st

13、 earth ground (waterpipe, conduit, etc.) by connecting a leakage current testerbetween the earth ground and all exposed metal parts of theappliance (input/output terminals, screwheads, metaloverlays, control shaft, etc.). Plug the AC line cord of theappliance directly into a 120V AC 60Hz outlet and
14、turn theAC power switch on. Once the button is pressed sothat the name of the desired surround mode categoryappears in the on-screen display and in the LowerDisplay Line $, press the Surround Mo
38、deSelector 3 to cycle through the individual modesavailable. For example, press this button to select Dolbymodes, and then press the Surround Mode Selector3 to choose from the various mode options.3 Surround Mode Selector: Press this button to select from among the available surround modeoptions for
39、 the surround mode category selected.The specific modes will vary based on the number ofspeakers available, the surround mode category andwhether the input source is digital or analog. For exam-ple, press the Surround Mode Group Selector 2to select a category such as Dolby or Logic 7, andthen press

42、eft side of the buttonto tune lower-frequency stations and the right side ofthe button to tune higher-frequency stations.When the tuner is in the MANUAL/MONO mode,each tap of the Selector will increase or decrease thefrequency by one increment.When the tuner receivesa signal strong enough for adequa
43、te reception,MANUAL TUNED will appear in the LowerDisplay Line $ and in the on-screen display.Whenthe tuner is in the AUTO/STEREO mode,press the button once, and the tuner will scan for astation with acceptable signal strength.When the next higher- or lower-frequency station is tuned, thefrequency s
44、can will stop and the Lower Display Line$ and the on-screen display will indicate AUTOTUNED.When an FM stereo station is tuned, thedisplay will read AUTO ST TUNED. See page39 for more information on using the tuner.When anXM Ready module is connected and activated, andwhen there is sufficient signal
45、 strength for the XM system to operate, pressing this button will alsochange the XM Radio channel.5 Tuner Band Selector: Pressing this button willautomatically switch the AVR 445 to the Tuner mode.Pressing it again will select the AM or FM frequencyband, or XM Radio. (See page 39 for more informa-ti
46、on on the tuner.)6 Preset Station Selector: Press this button toscroll up or down through the list of stations that havebeen entered into the preset memory. (See page 39for more information on tuner programming.)7 Input Source Selector: Press this button tochange the input by scrolling up or down th
47、rough thelist of input sources.8 Tuning Mode Selector: Press this button to selectAuto or Manual tuning.When the button is pressed sothat AUTO/STEREO appears in the UpperDisplay Line #, the tuner will search for the next station with an acceptable signal when the TuningSelector 4Mis pressed.When the
48、 button ispressed so that MANUAL/MONO appears in theUpper Display Line #, each press of the TuningSelector 4Mwill increase the frequency. (See page 39 for more information on using the tuner.) This button may also be used to switch between Stereoand Mono modes for FM radio reception.When weakrecepti
49、on is encountered, select the Manual/Mono tuning mode. Press and hold again to switch back toStereo mode. (See pages 39 for more information onusing the tuner.)
