5、ctor (solid state) devices can be damaged easily by static electricity. Such components commonly are calledElectrostatically Sensitive (ES) Devices. Examples of typical ES devices are integrated circuits and some field effect transistors andsemiconductor chip components. The following techniques shou

Immediately before handling any semiconductor component or semiconductor-equipped assembly, drain off any electrostatic charge onyour body by touching a known earth ground. Alternatively, obtain and wear a co

After removing an electrical assembly equipped with ES devices, place the assembly on a conductive surface such as aluminum foil, toprevent electr
8、ostatic charge build-up or exposure of the assembly.3. Use only a grounded-tip soldering iron to solder or unsolder ES devices.4. Use only an anti-static solder removal device. Some solder removal devices not classified as anti-static can generate electrical chargessufficient to damage ES devices.5.
9、 Do not use freon-propelled chemicals. These can generate electrical change sufficient to damage ES devices.6. Do not remove a replacement ES device from its protective package until immediately before you are ready to install it. (Most replacementES devices are packaged with leads electrically shor

Immediately before removing the protective material from the leads of a replacement ES device, touch the protective material to thechassis or circuit assembly into which the device will be installed.Be sure no power

On: The LED is white, when the AVR is on and operating normally.NOTE: If the PROTECT message ever appears,
30、turn off the AVR and unplug it. Check all speaker wires for a possible short. Ifnone is found, bring the unit to an authorized Harman Kardonservice center for inspection and repair before using it again.Source List:Press this button to select a source device, which is a component where a playback si

The AVRs menus refer to these jacks as the Optical Front,Coaxial Front, Composite Front, S-Video Front and AnalogFront inputs.Speaker/Channel Input Indicators:The box icons indicatewhich speaker positions you have configured (see the Initial SetupSection), and
39、the size (frequency range) of each speaker. The letters will light inside the boxes to indicate which channels are present in the incoming signal.Navigation:These buttons are used to navigate the AVRs menus and to operate the tuner.Remote IR Sensor:This sensor receives infrared (IR) commands from the

It is important to ensure that it is not blocked. If covering the sensor is unavoidable, such as when the AVR 3550HD is placed inside a cabinet, you may use an optional Harman Kardon HE 1000, or other infrared receiver, connecting it to the Remote IRInput on the AVR 3550HDs rear pane
41、l.Alternatively, connect the RemoteIR Output of another compatible component to the AVR 3550HDsRemote IR Input. Point the remote at the other devices remote sensor, and the command will be transmitted to the AVR 3550HD.An externalIR “blaster” may also be used, positioned to point at this area.AVR Set
