18、l is being sentto the HKTS 5/6 by your receiver or surroundprocessor, and provided that the Auto/Onswitch is moved to the left so that it isin the “Auto” position.When your receiver or amplifier is off, or isnot sending program material to the sub-woofer, the subwoofer will be in Standbymode and the

19、 LED on the amp panelwill turn red.When the subwoofer senses anaudio signal,it will automatically turn itselfon and the LED will turn green. If thesubwoofer does not sense a signal afterapproximately twenty minutes,it will auto-matically go into Standby mode.When the Auto/On switch is switched tothe

20、 “On” position, the subwoofer willremain on, whether or not program materialis playing.If you will be away from home for anextended period of time, or if the sub-woofer will not be used, switch the MasterPower switch to the “Off” position.VolumeVolume can be adjusted using theSubwoofer Level Control

Check that the powered subwoofer isplugged in and its Power switch isswitched on to the “” p

22、osition. Check all wires and connections betweenreceiver/amplifier and speakers. Make sureall wires are connected. Make sure none of the speaker wires are frayed, cut orpunctured. Review proper operation of your receiver/amplifier.If there is no sound coming from onespeaker: Check the “Balance” cont

23、rol on yourreceiver/amplifier. Check all wires and connections betweenreceiver/amplifier and speakers. Make sureall wires are connected. Make sure none of the speaker wires are frayed, cut orpunctured. In Dolby* Digital or DTSmode, makesure that the receiver/processor is config-ured so that the spea

24、ker in question isenabled. Turn off all electronics and switch thespeaker in question with one of the otherspeakers that is working correctly.Turneverything back on, and determine whetherthe problem is in the same place: i.e., thespeaker that was working previously nowhas no sound and the speaker th

25、at was notworking now sounds fine; or whether it hasmoved: i.e., the speaker that was not work-ing still has no sound and the speaker thatwas working is still fine. If the problem is inthe same place, the source of the problemis most likely with your receiver or amplifier,and you should consult the

26、owners manualfor that product for further information. If theproblem has followed the speaker, consultyour dealer for further assistance or, if that is not possible, visit our Web site for further information.If there is no sound from the center speaker: Check all wires and connections betweenreceiv

27、er/amplifier and speaker. Make sureall wires are connected. Make sure none of the speaker wires are frayed, cut orpunctured. If your receiver/processor is set in DolbyPro Logic* mode, make sure the centerspeaker is not in phantom mode. If your receiver/processor is set in DolbyDigital or DTS mode, m

28、ake sure the receiver/processor is configured so that the center speaker is enabled.If the system plays at low volumesbut shuts off as volume is increased: Check all wires and connections betweenreceiver/amplifier and speakers. Make sureall wires are connected. Make sure none of the speaker wires ar

29、e frayed, cut orpunctured. If more than one pair of main speakers isbeing used, check the minimum impedancerequirements of your receiver/amplifier.If there is low (or no) bass output: Make sure the SUB input of the SUB-TS5/6subwoofer and SUB or LFE output of yourreceiver or amplifier are properly co

30、nnectedby the RCA-type patch cord. Make sure the connections to the SpeakerInputs have the correct polarity (+ and ). Make sure the subwoofer is plugged into an active electrical outlet and its Power switch is switched on to the “” position. Check the speaker setup (bass manage-ment) settings in you

31、r AVR receiver orprocessor to make certain that the front,center and surround speakers are config-ured for “Small,” and that the subwoofer isset for “Yes” or “On.”If there is no sound from the sur-round speakers: Check all wires and connections betweenreceiver/amplifier and speakers. Make sureall wi

32、res are connected. Make sure none of the speaker wires are frayed, cut orpunctured. Review proper operation of your receiver/processor and its surround soundfeatures. Make sure the movie or TV show you arewatching is recorded in a surround soundmode. If it is not, check to see whether yourreceiver/p

33、rocessor has other surroundmodes you may use. In Dolby Digital or DTS mode, make sureyour receiver/processor is configured so thatthe surround speakers are enabled. Review the operation of your DVD playerand the jacket of your DVD to make surethat the DVD features the desired DolbyDigital or DTS mod

36、ardonHKTS 5/HKTS 6 TEST PROCEDUREEquipment needed: Function/signal generator/sweep generator Integrated Amplifier Multimeter Speaker cables Single RCA cableGeneral Unit Function (UUT = Unit Under Test)1) From the signal generator, connect one line level (RCA) cable to the single SUB input.2) On the

37、front of the unit, turn the LEVEL control full counterclockwise.3) Turn on generator, adjust to 150mV, 50 Hz.4) Plug in UUT; turn the power switch ON. LED should be Red. Turn LEVEL control full clockwise (MAX)5) LED should now be Green; immediate bass response should be heard and felt from port tube

38、 opening.6) Turn off generator, turn VOLUME control fully counterclockwise, disconnect RCA cable.Sweep Function1) Follow steps 3-6 above, using a sweep generator as a signal source.2) Sweep generator from 20Hz to 300Hz. Listen to the cabinet and drivers for any rattles, clicks, buzzes or anyother no

39、ises. If any unusual noises are heard, remove woofers and test.Driver Function1) Remove woofer from cabinet; detach + and - wire clips.2) Check DC resistance of woofer; it should be 3.4 ohms 10%3) Connect a pair of speaker cables to driver terminals. Cables should be connected to an integrated ampli

40、fierfed by a signal generator. Turn on generator and adjust so that speaker level output is 5.0V.4) Sweep generator from 20Hz to 1kHz. Listen to driver for any rubbing, buzzing, or other unusual noises.5) Caution: when re-connecting woofer wires, observe proper polarity, as Faston connectors are the
