20、ntrol.Turn the control clockwise to increase the SUB-TS18s volume, orcounterclockwise to decrease it. High-Cut (Low-Pass) Filter Switch:Placing this switch in the ON position acti-vates circuitry that cuts out all audio inputsignals above 120Hz, allowing the SUB-TS18to focus its power on reproducing

21、 the low-frequency portion of the signal, avoiding inefficiency and distortion. Engage this filterwhen using the Speaker-Level Inputs ,or when using the Line-Level Full-RangeInputs , unless your receiver or processorprocesses its line-level output using a low-pass filter.The filter has no effect whe

22、n theSUB Input is used. External Trigger Input: Use the sup-plied mini-plug cable to connect the triggeroutput of another product to this jack.Whena trigger signal between 3 and 30 volts (ACor DC) is detected, the SUB-TS18 amplifierwill turn on, even when the audio-sense feature has been activated b

23、y placing theAudio-Sense On/Off Switch in theAUTO position.The amplifier will remainon for about 1015 minutes without a trigger signal. Audio-Sense On/Off Switch:Whenplaced in the AUTO position,and when theMaster Power Switch is turned on,theSUB-TS18 will automatically turn itself on or Subwoofer-Le

25、R AMPLIFIER PANEL CONTROLS AND CONNECTIONSplace itself in the Standby mode,depending onwhether it is receiving an audio signal.Whenthis switch is placed in the ON position,theSUB-TS18 will remain on,whether or not it isreceiving an audio signal.An LED located on top of the SUB-TS18indicates whether

26、the SUB-TS18 is in the Onor Standby state when used with the Audio-Sense On/Off Switch in the AUTOposition.The LED is lit blue to indicate thatthe SUB-TS18 is receiving an audio signaland is turned on, and the LED is lit amber toindicate that no signal is being received andthe SUB-TS18 is in the Sta

27、ndby mode.When the Audio-Sense On/Off Switch is in the ON position, the LED will be litblue, whether or not an audio signal is present.When the Master Power Switch isturned off, the LED goes dark, no matterwhich position the Audio-Sense On/OffSwitch is in. Phase Switch: This switch determineswhether

28、 the SUB-TS18 subwoofers piston-like action moves in and out in phase withthe main speakers. If the speakers were toplay out of phase, the sound waves pro-duced by the subwoofer would be canceledout, reducing bass response.This phenome-non depends in part on the relative place-ment of the speakers i

29、n the room. In mostcases, the Phase Switch should be leftin the NORMAL position. However, itdoes no harm to experiment with the PhaseSwitch , and you may leave it in theposition that maximizes bass response. Line-Level Subwoofer (SUB) Input:Connect the subwoofer output of a receiverwith digital surr

30、ound sound decoding, suchas DolbyDigital or DTS, to this input.Thisinput bypasses the SUB-TS18s internalcrossover circuitry, and should only be usedwith a filtered signal. If your receiver does nothave digital decoding,you should use theLine-Level Full-Range Inputs instead. Line-Level Full-Range Inp

31、uts: Connectthe line-level subwoofer output or preamp out-put(s) of your receiver or amplifier to theseinputs.If your receiver does not have a sepa-rate subwoofer output,use a Y-adapter (notsupplied) to bridge the receivers preamp out-put to the main amp input for that channel,and connect the long e

32、nd of the adapter to the corresponding line-level input on theSUB-TS18.If your receiver has only a singlesubwoofer output,you may connect it to either the left or right line-level input on theSUB-TS 18,and no Y-adapter is needed. Speaker-Level Outputs: If you areusing the Speaker-Level Inputs on the

33、SUB-TS18,you should connect these binding-post terminals to your front left and rightspeakers, remembering to maintain polarityby connecting the (+) terminal on the SUB-TS18 subwoofer to the (+) terminal on the speaker, and the () terminal on theSUB-TS18 subwoofer to the () terminal on the speaker.

34、If you are not using theSpeaker-Level Inputs , then connectyour front left and right speakers directly to your receiver or amplifier. See pages 9through 12 for further information on speakerconnections. Speaker-Level Inputs: If your receiveror amplifier does not have a line-level sub-woofer output,

35、connect these binding-postterminals to the main left and right speakerterminals of your receiver or amplifier.Remember to maintain polarity by connectingthe (+) terminal on the receiver/amplifier to the(+) terminal on the SUB-TS18 subwoofer,andthe () terminal on the receiver/amplifier to the() termi

36、nal on the SUB-TS18 subwoofer. Master Power Switch: Place thisswitch in the “” position to power-on theSUB-TS18 subwoofer.The SUB-TS18 willthen be either in the Standby mode or com-pletely on, depending on the position of theAudio-Sense On/Off Switch . AC Power Cord: Make sure to plug this cord into
