18、hen the FL 8385 is first turned onby pressing this switch, the Status Mode Indicator2 will turn blue, and the Information Display #will light. Press the switch again to turn the unit off; theStatus Mode Indicator 2 will turn amber, indicatingthat the unit is in a Standby mode.When the FL 8385is conn

19、ected to a switched AC outlet, such as thosefound on the back of many audio products, it willreturn to the Standby mode when power is applied tothe switched outlet without any further press of theswitch.2 Status Mode Indicator: When the FL 8385 is in the On mode, this indicator will glow blue.When t

20、he unit is off, the indicator will glow amber, indicatingthat the unit is still connected to the AC main supply.3 Headphones Jack: Connect a set of standardheadphones to this jack for private listening.4 Headphones Level Control: Turn this knob toincrease or decrease the volume level for headphonesc

21、onnected to the FL 8385s Headphones Jack 3.Note that changing this level will not change the soundlevel for the units main output, as that remains constant.NOTES: Always adjust the headphones level to the minimumpossible to avoid the possibility of damage to the lis-teners hearing from unwanted whit

22、e noise or othertransient noises. When inserting a disc, wait until the FL 8385 hasrecognized the disc before using headphones inorder to avoid the possibility of hearing potentiallydamaging white noise.5 CD Drawer: This drawer holds the discs that willbe played. Press the Open/Close Button 6 to ope

23、nthe drawer so that discs may be inserted.6 Open/Close Button: Press this button to open or close the disc drawer. DO NOT push the drawer to close it or damage to the transport mechanism may result.7 Search Button: Press one side of this button tosearch forward or the other side of the buttonto sear

24、ch backwards through a disc to locate aparticular portion of the disc being played.8 Skip Button: Press one side of this button tomove to the next track or the other side of thebutton to move back to the previous track fifionthe disc being played.9Stop Button: Press this button to stop the disc cur-

25、rently being played.) Play/Pause Button: Press this button to start theplayback of a CD. If the CD drawer is open, pressingthis button will automatically close the drawer. Press thisbutton once during play to momentarily pause a disc.When the button is pressed again, the disc will resumeplay at the

See page 12for more information on the Time Display E.F Remaining Tracks Display: When a disc is firstselected, the numbers for each of the tracks on thatdisc will light,

35、up to 16 tracks. During playback thecurrent track number will flash, and all remaining track numbers will remain lit.The numbers of the preceding tracks will go dark.When playback isstopped, all of the track numbers available on the current disc will light, even if they were previouslyplayed. If a d

36、isc contains more than 16 tracks, thehigher-numbered tracks may be played and their num-bers will appear in the Track Number Display Dwhen selected, but those numbers will not appear inthe Remaining Tracks Display F.G Total Time Indicator: This indicator will lightwhen the total time on the current

37、disc has beenselected for display. See page 12 for more informationon the time display function.H Program Indicator: This indicator will light whenthe FL 8385 has been placed in programmed-playmode. It will remain lit while a play list is being pro-grammed and during playback of a play list.I Remain

38、ing Time Indicator: This indicator willlight when the remaining time on the current disc or inthe current track has been selected for display. Seepage 12 for more information on the time displayfunction.J Intro Scan Indicator: This indicator will lightwhen the Intro Search mode has been selected asd

39、escribed on page 13.This mode enables you tosearch for a particular track by previewing the first 10seconds of each track of each loaded disc, and thenselecting the desired track.K Loaded Disc Indicators: When the unit is turnedon, the indicators for all disc positions will light, withthe current di

42、e onlyconnected the Coaxial Digital Audio Output toyour receiver or processor, you will not hear HDCDplayback unless your receiver/processor includes anHDCD decoder. Playback of non-HDCD-encodeddiscs using the Analog Audio Outputs will beenhanced due to the improved filters incorporated inthe FL 838
