When soldering, do not inhale solder fumes or exposeeyes to solder/flux vapor! If you come in contact with solder or components located inside the enclosure of this product, wash your hands beforehandling food.WARNING: Laser SafetyThis product contains a las

、er beam component. This component may emit invisible, as well as visible radiation, which maycause eye damage. To protect your eyes and skin from laser radiation, the following precautions must be used duringservicing of the unit.1) When testing and/or repairing any component within the product, kee

、p your eyes and skin more than 30 cm away fromthe laser pick-up unit at all times. Do not stare at the laser beam at any time.2) Do not attempt readjustment, disassembly or repair of the laser pick-up, unless noted elsewhere in this manual.3) CAUTION : Use of controls, adjustments or performance of

、procedures other than those specified herein may result inhazardous radiation exposure.Laser Emitting conditions:1) When the Top Cover is removed, and the STANDBY/ON key is turned to the ON position, the laser component will emita beam for several seconds to detect if a disc is present. During this

、time (5-10 sec.) the laser may radiate through thelens of the laser pick-up unit. Do not attempt any servicing during this period! If no disc is detected, the laser will stop emitting the beam. When a disc is set, you will not be exposed to any laseremissions.2) The laser power level can be adjusted

、with the VR on the pick-up PWB, however, this level has been set by the factoryprior to shipping from the factory. Do not adjust this laser level control unless instruction is provided elsewhere in thismanual. Adjustment of this control can increase the laser emission level from the device.RadioFans

、B.I PREVENTION OF ELECTRO STATIC DISCHARGESome semiconductor (solid state) devices can be damaged easily by static electricity. Such components commonly are calledElectrostatically Sensitive (ES) Devices. Examples of typical ES devices are integrated circuits and some field-effect transistors andsem

、iconductor “chip” components. The following techniques should be used to help reduce the incidence of component damage caused byelectro static discharge (ESD).1. Immediately before handling any semiconductor component or semiconductor-equipped assembly, drain off any ESD on your body bytouching a kn

、own earth ground. Alternatively, obtain and wear a commercially available discharging ESD wrist strap, which should beremoved for potential shock reasons prior to applying power to the unit under test.2. After removing an electrical assembly equipped with ES devices, place the assembly on a conducti

、ve surface such as aluminum foil, toprevent electrostatic charge buildup or exposure of the assembly.3. Use only a grounded-tip soldering iron to solder or unsolder ES devices.4. Use only an anti-static solder removal device. Some solder removal devices not classified as “anti-static (ESD protected)

、” can generateelectrical charge sufficient to damage ES devices.5. Do not use freon-propelled chemicals. These can generate electrical charges sufficient to damage ES devices.6. Do not remove a replacement ES device from its protective package until immediately before you are ready to install it. (M

、ostreplacement ES devices are packaged with leads electrically shorted together by conductive foam, aluminum foil or comparableconductive material).7. Immediately before removing the protective material from the leads of a replacement ES divice, touch the protective material to thechassis or circuit

、 assembly into which the device will be installed.CAUTION: Be sure no power is applied to the chassis or circuit, and observe all other safety precautions.8. Minimize bodily motions when handling unpackaged replacement ES devices. (Otherwise harmless motion such as the brushingtogether of your cloth

、es fabric or the lifting of your foot from a carpeted floor can generate static electricity (ESD) sufficient to damage anES device).Optical Pick-upPROTECTION OF EYES FROM LASER BEAM DURING SERVICINGThis set employs a laser. Therefore, be sure to carefully followthe instructions below when servicing.
