1、EBOGENINSTRUCTION MANUALMODEL TP160AM/FM TUNEROPERATING INSTRUCTIONSPOWERDepress POWER ON button to turn on tuner. Turn offtuner by depressing button again to release it to the outposition.AM RECEPTIONDepress AM button. Turn TUNING knob until pointerindicates desired station on AM (bottom) dial. Adj

2、ust TUN-ING knob until needle on tuning meter shows maximumdeflection to right.FM RECEPTIONDepress FM and FM MUTE buttons. Turn TUNINGknob until pointer indicates desired station on FM (top)dial. Carefully adjust TUNING knob until needle on tuningmeter is at the center of the tuning dial, exactly on

3、 thecircle above the letters “FM”.NOTEMuting removes the annoying noise between FMstations. The muting circuitry may prevent thereceiver from distinguishing a very weak signalfrom interstation noise. To tune in very weakstations, defeat the mute circuit by releasingthe FM MUTE switch to the out posi

If the unit waspicked up directly from a dealer or distributor, make anydamage claim directly to the seller without delay.RACK INSTALLATIONNOTEThis paragraph applies only to tuners which willbe installed in a 19”equipment rack.The Model TP160 may be installed in a standard 19” equip-ment rack b

10、y using Model RPK31 rack mounting brackets.Remove the four screws securing the side of the cover.Do not remove the cover. Install the brackets as shownin figure 1, securing them to the tuner with the four screwssupplied with the brackets. Each bracket has two elongatedholes on three-inch centers for

Con-nect the antenna as shown

12、in figure 2.Connecting To External TV AntennaCONNECTING EXTERNAL FM ANTENNAIMPORTANTAlways disconnect the FM Line Antennawhen using an external FM antenna.The Model TP160 has an internal FM Line Antenna whichmay be used for receiving FM broadcasts. For improvedreception, particularly in weak signal

13、areas or for tunersmounted in consoles or racks, installation of an outdoor FMor “T” antenna is necessary. If you are installing a standard300-ohm antenna system, connect the twin-lead transmissionline as shown in figure 3a. If conditions require use of acoaxial transmission line, such as RG-11/U or

14、 RG-59/U,connect the cable as shown in figure 3b. Coaxial cable mustbe used when the transmission line is run in conduit.For optimum performance, a separate FM antenna is rec-ommended. If a TV antenna must be used for both FM andTV reception, install an FM signal splitter at the end of thetransmissi

15、on line, as shown in figure 4.LEVEL CONTROLModel TP160 AM/FM tuners shipped with Bogen Cen-tralized School Sound System consoles or racks have theLEVEL control preset to the proper output for the boosteramplifier. Tuners shipped separately have the LEVEL con-trol set for maximum output, which is 1.2

16、 volts.To decrease the audio output from the tuner, turn theLEVEL control counterclockwise. 17、ed only by aBOGEN SERVICEWe are interested in your Bogen tuner for as long as youhave it. If trouble ever develops with your unit, please donot hesitate to ask our advice or assistance. Write to Ser-vice Department, Bogen Division, Lear Siegler, Inc., P.O.Box 500, Paramus, New Jersey 07652.When comm

18、unicating with us, give the model numberand serial number of your unit. Describe the difficultyencountered and the effects each operating control hasupon the trouble symptoms. Include details on electrical con-nections to associated equipment, and list such equipment.When we receive this information

19、, we will send you serviceinformation if the trouble appears to be simple. If the troublerequires servicing, we will send you the name and addressof the nearest Bogen authorized service agency to which youcan send your unit for repairs.When shipping your unit, pack it carefully using theoriginal shi

20、pping carton, or a similar container and fillermaterial, to prevent damage in transit. Send the unit, fullyinsured and prepaid, via railway express or United Parcel.Do not ship via parcel post unless so instructed.DIAL CORD RESTRINGING. Refer to figure 5 and proceedas follows:a) Remove front panel b

21、y pulling off TUNING knob andremoving two Phillips-head screws.b) Connect dial cord at drum hook marked START indiagram.c) String dial around nylon pulleys and tuning shafe todrum hook marked FINISH in diagram. Make certain cordwinds around tuning shaft from rear toward front, as shown.d) Attach end

22、 of cord with tension spring, making certainthat spring applies enough pressure to prevent cord fromslipping.e) Tune in a known station and attach dial pointer at properposition. Before securing pointer, twist cord as shown indiagram so cord will exert a slight pressure toward panelbracket and away

23、from dial glass.REPLACING DIAL LAMP. Remove front panel as describedin step a), above, and replace lamp with 6.3V No. 12 bulb(Bogen Part 94-0175-01).REPLACEMENT PARTSMost components used in the Model TP160 are avail-able through all reputable parts jobbers. The parts listedhere are available from Bo

24、gen distributors, service agenciesor directly from the factory.When ordering parts from Bogen, specify the part num-ber and description, as listed below. Also give the ModelTP160 and the Series designation, which is a letter followedby numbers stamped or screened on rear of the chassis.When ordering
