2、er to obtain the best performance fromthis integrated amplifier, please be sure to readthis owners manual and use your integratedamplifier only in accordance with its instructions.The special features of this unit include:HCC (High Instantaneous Current Capability)The amplifier sections react rapidl

3、y to musicaltransients, providing the instantaneous currentnecessary to precisely drive and control nearlyany loudspeaker system.Ultrawide BandwidthThe bandwidth of this unit is exceptionally wideand is independent of negative feedback.Thisimproves transient accuracy and phase linearity.Low Negative

4、 FeedbackThis unit has been designed to have low distor-tion and wide bandwidth without high negativefeedback.This further improves its dynamicaccuracy.Discrete Component CircuitryIn order to achieve the above goals, all discreteelectronic circuitry has been employed. No avail-able integrated circui

5、ts could provide this highlevel of performance.Sophisticated Electronic Protection CircuitryHarmanKardons unique protection circuitryguards the amplifier from short circuit or dam-aged speakers and wires, without impairingsound quality by the use of current limiting oroutput relays.General instructi

6、onsAlways Use at 230V ACThis unit is designed for operation with 230VAC. Use only domestic AC outlets. Connectingthe unit to an outlet supplying a higher voltagemay create a fire hazard.Handle the Power Cord GentlyDo not disconnect the plug from the AC outletby pulling the cord; always pull the plug

7、 itself.Pulling the cord may damage it. If you do notintend to use your unit for any considerablelength of time, turn the unit off completely bypressing the round Power button above “Power”(see page 5). Do not place furniture or otherheavy objects on the cord, and try to avoid drop-ping heavy object

8、s on it.Also do not tie a knotin the power cord. Not only may the cord bedamaged, it can also cause a short circuit with aconsequent fire hazard.Place of installationPlace the unit on a firm and level surface.Avoidinstalling your unit under the following condi-tions:I Moist or humid places.I Places

9、exposed to direct sunlight orclose to heating equipment.I Extremely cold locations.I Places subject to excessive vibration or dust.I Poorly ventilated places.Do not obstruct the ventilation slots on the topsurface of the unit by placing objects on them.Otherwise, the temperature inside the unit mayr

10、ise, possibly affecting its long-term reliability.Moving the UnitBefore moving the unit, be sure to pull out thepower cord from the AC outlet and disconnectthe interconnection cords with other units.Do Not Open the CabinetTo prevent shock hazard, do not tamper withinternal components for inspection

11、or mainte-nance. HarmanKardon does not guaranteeagainst performance degradation resulting fromany modification. If water, a hairpin or wire acci-dentally enters the unit, immediately pull theplug from the AC outlet to prevent shock andconsult an authorized HarmanKardon servicestation. If you use the

12、 unit under this condition,it may cause a fire shock hazard.CleaningIf the unit gets dirty, wipe it with a soft dry cloth.If necessary, wipe it with a soft cloth dampenedwith mild soapy water and then with a dry cloth.Never use benzene, thinner, alcohol or othervolatile agents, and avoid spraying an

13、 insecticidenear the unit.Warning SignsIf you detect an abnormal smell or smoke, imme-diately turn the amplifier off and unplug thepower cord. 14、 the unitever needs repair.RadioFans.CN 收音机爱 好者资料库4CONNECTIONSConnectionsConnecting Other Components1.Make sure your amplifier and other compo-nents are turned off.2.Connect each components Output/Play jacksto the corresponding Input jacks on the backof your amplifier and, if available, the compo-ne

15、nts Input/Record jacks to the Output jacksof the HK670. Use the white, black or grayplugs to connect Left channel jacks; use thered plugs for Right channel jacks.3.A record player with MM cartridge must beconnected to the Phono Input jacks and aseparate ground wire to the ground terminalscrew above.

16、Wired Remote ControlTo control your amplifier with an externalinfrared remote sensor, connect the wire fromthe remote sensor to the REMOTE IN jack on theback panel. Or, if another stereo component hasa built-in infrared remote sensor and a RemoteOutput jack, it may be possible to connect this jack t

17、o the REMOTE IN jack of your amplifier.AllHarmanKardon products with Remote In andRemote Out jacks are compatible with oneanother, except for the Citation 22, 24 and 25.Other manufacturers remote sensors and com-ponents may not be compatible, but it will nothurt to experiment.A second wire may be us

18、edto connect your amplifiers REMOTE OUT jack tothe Remote Input of another stereo component.Continue this process to include additional com-ponents (if compatible).Connecting Speakers1.For best performance, use high quality speak-er cables. However, ordinary copper wire canbe used if the gauge meets

20、the speakers, in yourowners manual, or by contacting your dealer ormanufacturer.You can listen to two pairs of speakers atthe same time ONLY if the impedance ofEACH speaker is NOT LESS THAN 8 Ohms.WARNING: Do not play sets of speakers simul-taneously except as recommended above.Ampli-fier may overhe

21、at.Digital Loop-ThroughDigital inputs and outputs are provided only as aconvenience for connecting various digital com-ponents to the “CD”,“CDR” and “AUX” digitalinputs.The corresponding digital input signal isfed to the “DIGITAL OUT” connector when“CD”,“CDR” or “AUX” is selected as inputsource, to

Once the unit has been t

24、urned onwith the round power button, this button shouldbe left on for normal use and only turned offwhen the amplifier will not be used for extendedperiods of time (vacation, etc.). For daily use,press the flat “Power” button to turn the ampli-fier on or off (Standby). In Standby the LED willglow or

25、ange, indicating that the unit is still con-nected to AC mains and can be turned on fromthe remote control or with the flat “Power” but-ton.Headphone JackPlug in headphones if desired.With both“Speaker 1” and “2” selectors in the Off posi-tion, output is supplied only to headphones.Speaker 1/2 Selec

31、hatthe system remote control can operate them.The Function Table below will show all functionsof the HK670 and external devices that can becontrolled by the HK670 remote.Important Notes: For controlling a tuner (only needed for thenumeric buttons), CD Recorder or CD Playerthe appropriate input (TUNE

32、R, CDR orCD) must have been selected with thesource buttons of the remote control (selectingon the front panel is not sufficient). Note that DVD players or tape decks cannotbe controlled by the remote. To control a compatible CD Recorder CDRmust be selected as input and the drive to becontrolled (CD

33、P or CDR) must be selectedappropriately with the CDP SELECT or CDRSELECT buttons.Operating ConditionsThe control unit operates effectively within a dis-tance of 7 meters and an angle of 30 from theamplifier. Using the control near fluorescentlights may shorten this range, as will any dust ordirt tha

34、t accumulates on the front of the remotecontrol or the remote sensor area of the amplifi-er.Also avoid blocking the line of sight betweenamplifier and remote.The control unit is powered by two AA batteries,included with your amplifier.When you replaceweak batteries, replace both at the same time.Whe

38、 your CD player, tapedeck, tuner or other source1.Turn Volume control to minimum level andpress the round Power button (above”Power”) to turn the unit to Standby, thepower indicator below will light orange.Thenpress the flat Power switch to turn on theamplifier.The power indicator lights red for afe

39、w seconds, while the protection circuitrychecks for short circuit or other problems, andthen it lights green.2.Press “Speaker 1” to hear loudspeakers con-nected to the rear Speakers 1 terminals. Press“Speaker 2” to hear loudspeakers connectedto the rear Speakers 2 terminals. Press both tohear both s

40、peaker pairs at once.To listen toheadphones only, press to turn off any activespeaker pair.3.Select desired source for listening by pressingthe front panel Source button repeatedly untilthe indicator for the desired source is illumi-nated or by pressing the desired Source but-ton on the remote.4.Beg

41、in playing the desired source.5.Adjust the Volume control to the desired level.6.Adjust Bass,Treble and Balance controls asdesired (the Source Direct function must beturned off).7.Press Source Direct until the SourceDirect indicator lights up to bypass the tonecontrol and balance circuitry to ensure

Press again to turn thebypass function off and to make the tone andbalance controls function again.Making a recordingYou may record any source to tape or to CD-R orto both simultaneously.You may also connect asecond tape deck to the CDR inputs and outputsto record from tape

43、 to tape (in either direction).To select the desired source for recording (thiscan be a different source than the one beinglistened to), press the Record Source buttonon the front panel repeatedly until the indicatorfor the desired record source is illuminated.NOTE:The record output signal is taken

44、directlyfrom the program source and is unaffected bythe Volume, Bass,Treble or Balance controls.Important Notes: The functions Source Direct and RecordSource can be selected on the front panelonly, not from the remote control. 3-head cassette decks with monitoring func-tion can be connected to Tape

45、or CDRconnectors too, but their monitoring functioncannot be used.8TROUBLESHOOTING/SPECIFICATIONSTroubleshootingThis unit is designed for trouble-free operation; most problems users encounter are due to operating errors. So if you have a problem, first check this list for apossible solution. If the

46、problem persists, consult your authorized HarmanKardon service center.If the problem is.Make sure that.No lights illuminate when power cord is plugged into AC outlet. The unit is plugged into a live outlet. The round power button above Power on the front panel is pressed in.No sound is heard. Speake

47、r switches corresponding to the desired speakers are pressed. Correct source button has been pressed. Volume is turned up. Speaker wires are connected properly. Hook-up wires to source component are connected properly.Sound is not heard from the speaker system on one side. The speaker wires and conn

48、ection wires are connected correctly. The balance control knob is set to the center.When listening to stereo sound,the left and right sounds are reversed. The speaker wires are connected correctly. The wires between components are connected correctly.Intermittent or continuous buzzing or hissing. Th

49、e unit is away from fluorescent lights,TV, motors and other electrical appliances.The remote control and front panel controls dont appear to work. Disconnect the AC line cord from the wall socket,wait 5 minutes and then re-connect it.Humming noise when listening to LP Ground wire from record player
