16、e problem, perform thefollowing safety checks before releasing the set to the customer:Check the antenna terminals, metal trim, “metallized” knobs, screws,and all other exposed metal parts for AC leakage. Check leakage asdescribed below.LEAKAGE The AC leakage from any exposed metal part to earth gro
17、undand from all exposed metal parts to any exposed metal part havinga return to chassis, must not exceed 0.5 mA (500 microampers).Leakage current can be measured by any one of three methods.1.A commercial leakage tester, such as the Simpson 229 or RCAWT-540A. Follow the manufacturers instructions to
18、 use theseinstruments.2.A battery-operated AC milliammeter. The Data Precision 245digital multimeter is suitable for this job.3.Measuring the voltage drop across a resistor by means of aVOM or battery-operated AC voltmeter. The “limit” indicationis 0.75 V, so analog meters must have an accurate low-
19、voltagescale. The Simpson 250 and Sanwa SH-63Trd are examples ofa passive VOM that is suitable. Nearly all battery operateddigital multimeters that have a 2V AC range are suitable. When this test is activated,all segments turn on at the same time, then each segment turns onone after another.* Procedure:While depressing the ENTER, the LEVEL and the EQ buttonssimultaneously, press the power 1/
27、u button to turn on the mainpower. All segments turn on at the same time, then each segmentturns on press the ENTER button.FACTORY SET MODE* All preset contents are reset to the default setting.* Procedure:While depressing the SET UP, the LEVEL and the ENTER buttonssimultaneously, press the power 1/
28、u button to turn on the mainpower. The message Factry Set appears and the present contentsare reset to the default values.ALL CLEAR MODE* All preset contents are cleared when this mode is activated. Usethis mode before returning the product to clients upon completionof repair.* Procedure:While depre
29、ssing the SET UP button simultaneously, press thepower 1/u button to turn on the main power. The machine entersthe DEMO mode.DEMO mode: Wait a while, then thedemonstration starts. If the power 1/u button is pressed oftenthe demonstration has started, the power is turned off, and thedemonstration res
30、umes if the power 1/u button is pressed again.ALL CLEAR mode; If the power 1/u button is pressed oftenthe machine enters the DEMO mode, but before the demonstrationstarts, the display is turned off. Press 1/u again. No response isreturned. The press 1/u again. The preset data is cleared andthe machi
31、ne enters the normal power-on state.SOUND FIELD CLEAR MODE* The preset sound field is cleared when this mode is activated.Use this mode before returning the product to clients uponcompletion of repair.* Procedure:While depressing the SOUND FIELD MODE button, press thepower 1/u button to turn on the
32、main power. The message S.FInitialize appears and initialization is performed.AM CHANNEL STEP 9 kHz/10 kHzSELECTION MODE (US, Canadian models)* Either the 9 kHz step or 10 kHz step can be selected for the AMchannel step.* Procedure:Set the FUNCTION to AM. Turn off the main power.While depressing the
33、 TUNING+ button or the PRESET TUNING+ button, press the power 1/u button to turn on the main power.Either the message AM 9kHz Step or AM 10kHz Step appears.Select the desired step.DSP TEST MODE* It tests whether the DSP works correctly or not. When the DSPtest is activated, the test data is output f
34、rom the DSP (IC1401:CXD2712R) of the DIGITAL board and is written in the RAM(IC1402: IDT71V016S). When the test data is read from the RAMby the DSP, the data output must be equivalent to the originaldata. If they disagree, an error is triggered. Errors can be causedby the broken data line or defecti
35、ve soldering.* ProcedureWhile pressing the SETUP, LEVEL and SUR buttons, press thePOWER button to enter the DSP test mode. The message DSPTEST MODE appears. When an error occurs, the message DSP2ERROR is displayed. When there is no error, the message DSP2NO ERROR appears and the 1 kHz signal is outp
36、ut to all channels.Then, the mode can be switched the (SIGN WAVE) (THROUGH)and (INPULSE) mode.AUTOBETICAL MODE (AEP Model only)* This mode is installed in the Europe models only. When this modeis used, the receiver scans the broadcasts that can be received bytuner, and sets up the broadcasts. Be sur
37、e to start scanning afterconnecting the antenna.Procedure:Check that the antenna is connected. Press the POWER buttonwhile pressing the MEMORY button to turn on the power. Themessage “Autobetical select” appears and scanning starts by tuner.VERSION MODE* When this mode is used, the microprocessor ve
38、rsion number isdisplayed.* Procedure:Press the POWER button while pressing the ENTER, LEVEL,and SUR buttons to turn on the power. The microprocessor versionnumber appears as follows.SECTION 2SERVICING NOTE1. When the front panel is removed, the VR board is removed at thesame time. Consequently the L
