6、cuits are employed,resulting in an entirely different outstanding performance from that of lFstageshitherto designed, especially in the limiter characteristic and the capture ratio.The accurate electronic switching circuitry is employed in the FM multiplexdemodulator, insuring maximum separation wit

7、h excellent tonal quality.The muting circuit provided in the FlVl tuner completely eliminates the FMinter station noise whrch has hitherto been annoying the user in tuning.The power amplif ier employs the high-performance single ended push- pullcircuitry in the output stage and the push,pull complem

8、entary circuitry in thedriver stage, completely eliminating the distortion rnherent transformers fromthe audio stage. Tripple diffused mesa transistors are adopted as the powertransistors in the output stage for full-fidelity frequency response with largeaudio output power and least harmonic distort

9、ion.The inputs and outputs pr,ovided in the receiver include two pairs of pHONOMAG inputs. When two turntables are connected to these inputs, the useris able to switch from one turntable to the other any time at will. Also, twopairs of ioudspeaker outputs are included for switching between, or for p

10、er-mitting the simultaneous use of, two loudspeakers.The electronic switchrng circuitry employed in the power supply completely protectsexpensive power transistors even when the loudspeaker leads are shorted whilethe receiver un,L is in useINSTALLATIONAs this receiver is sully transistorized, desira

11、ble places to installit are as follows:OPlaces airy and free from humidity and dust. Avoid insta lingon close, low-ceiling shelves.OPlaces not directly exposed to the sun ray.OPlaces not close to heat-emitting objects such as heaters andstoves.LINE VOLTAGE SELECTION AND FUSESwitching Line Voltage Se

12、tting and FuseIn order to remove the fuse, turn the fuse cap located on theline voltage selector switch in the direction indicated by an arrow.Then remove the fuse plug from the unit. Put the fuse plugback so that the proper line voltage marktng can be seen thruthe cut on the edge of the plug.Whenev

13、er the set position of the selector swttch is changed,check the rating of the fuse. A 1.5-ampere fuse is to be usedfor either 220l or 24OV operation and a 3-ampere fuse forany of 110V, 117V, or 130V operation. lf the rating of thefuse is proper, install the fuse on ihe fuse cap.OPlaces where there i

21、ge for adding reality to the reproduction. For listen-ing at high volume level, this switch is normally set to OFF.12. LOW FILTERSetting this switch to the LOW FILTER position will eliminatelow f requency noise such as record rumble, hum, or otherinterference. When noise rs not present, this switch

22、is normallyset to OFF.13. HIGH FILTERSetting this switch to the HIGH FILTER position wili eliminatehigh frequency noise, such as record scratch, hiss, static noisefrom fluorescent lamps, or other interference. When no suchnorse is present, this switch is normaily set to OFF.14. MUTING SWTTCHWhen an

23、FIV station is tuned in, setting this switch to IVIUTINGwill eliminate interference noises between FM stations. For receptron of a weak-signal station, the switch should be set toOFF,15. AFC SWITCHThe function of the AFC (automatic frequency control) circuitis to compensate automatically for tuning

24、drift which frequentlyoccurs when listening in an FM station for a long ttme. Thisswitch should be set to the OFF position when tunrng in astatron, and afier the station has been tuned in, t should immediately be set to the AFC positton.16. PHONO SWITCHThis control switch selects the record player t

34、OPSTIGK ANTENNAThis is a loopsiick antenna for the reception of AM stations.ln areas relatively close to the AM station, this antenna willprovide satisfactory reception. This antenna has directional proper.ties, so rt should be moved about while listening to a stationand set at the position providin

35、g the best reception.19. SEPARATION GONTROIThis control adjusts the channel separation of FM multiplexstereo broadcasts. lt has already been adjusted at the factory,and normally there should be no need for any further adjust_ment.20. AC OUTLETThis is an AC outlet that provides a convenient source of

36、 powerfor any associated equipment. lt has a maximum capacity of115VA.21. AC oUTLETThis is another AC outlet and has a maximum capacity of 230VA. This outlet is not controlled through the SpEAKERSswitch (1) and remains Iive at all times.22. AM ANTENNA TERMINATThis is the terminal for connection with

37、 the AM antenna (medi_umwave broadcasts).23. GND 1When using a ground lead for the receiver, it should be con_nected to this terminal.24. FM ANTENNA TERMINATSThese are the terminals for connection with the FM antenna.25- TAPE HDWhen driving program material signals direcfly from the headsof a tape p

38、layer, the output cables should be connected to theseinput jacks.26. PH0N0 I27. PH0N0 2When using two turntables which are equipped with a magneticcartridge, the output cables of the second turntable should beconnected to these input jacks.28. GND 2lf a turntable equipped with a ground lead is used,

PHONO CERWhen using a turntable which is equipped with a ceramic orcrystal cartridge, the output cables should be connected to theseinput jacks.30. AUXThese are input jacks for auxiliary inputs such as the audiosignal from a TV set.31. TA

40、PE MONThe outputs of the LINE 0UTpUTS (the monitor output or play-back output) of the tape recorder should be connected to theseinput jacks.32. TAPE REGThe LINE INPUTS (the inputs or AUX inputs for recording) ofthe tape recorder should be connected to these recording outputjack s.33. Tape REC/P.B. C

41、0NNECT0R (DtN type)lf your tape recorder is provided wrth the DIN_type record/play.back connector and also you have a connecting cord with DIN-type connectors, the tape recorder can be connected with thisunit for both recording and playback by simply connecting thecord between the recorder and this

IINE GORDThis is the AC power cord. The AC plug provided at one endof this c

43、ord is inserted into the ad.lacent wall socket.36. MAIN LOUDSPEAKER TERMINALS (RIGHT CHANNEL)The right channel main loudspeaker leads are connected tothese terminals.37. MAIN LOUDSPEAKER TERMINATS (LEFT CHANNEL)The left channel main loudspeaker leads are connected to theseterminals.38. EXTRA IOUDSPE

44、AKER TERMIIALS(RTGHT CHANIEt)The right channel extra loudspeaker leads are connected tothese terminals.39. EXTRA LOUDSPEAKER TERMIIALS(LEFT CHANlEL)The left channel extra loudspeaker leads are connected tothese terminals.When using a turntable that is equipped with a magnetic cartridge,the output ca

45、bles should be connected to these input jacks.IPIONEEAntennaand Ground ConnectionsAM antennaOThe ferrite loopstick antenna (181 mounted on the rear of thereceiver will provide satisfactory reception of local stationswith strong signals. Because the loopstick antenna has directive properties, its dir

46、ection may be adjusted for the bestreception while listening to a statron.Fig. 6Olf noise is strong in your area and the adjustment of theloopstick antenna direction does not improve the situation, thefurnished AM lead antenna may be laid on the wall or onother standing object as high as possible, a

47、nd one end of theantenna lead should be connected to the AM antenna terminal(22). lf ihe furnished antenna dose not help, an outdoor AMantenna may need to be set up. In this case, the antennalead should also be connected to the Alvl antenna terminal(22)FM AntennaOlf the receiver is situated in regio

48、ns close to the transmittingsite or is placed in a wooden building, the furnished simpleindoor T-shaped antenna will provide satisfactory results. lnthis case, the 2 wires of the twin leads from the antennashould be connected to the Fl1 antenna terminals (24) andthe horizontal element of the T-secti

49、on should be extendedand positioned for the best reception while listening to an FMstation. Then, the antenna should be secured to the wall orto any support.Oln regions where the furnished indoorT-shaped antenna providespoor results such as many noises or poor channel separation,an outdoor FM antenn

50、a may be required. ln this case, the leadsfrom the outdoor antenna should also be connected to theFM antenna terminals (24).For information about the outdoor FM antenna, consuit aTV shop in your area.OG rou ndln some area, the use of a proper ground reduces noise sig-nificantly.
