19、ewind.A standardcassettehastwosidesthatareplayedineither direction.Whenacassetteisplaying,thetopsidewillbe indicatedonthedisplayasprogram“SIDE1 thebottom sidewillbeprogram“SIDE 2”. 3.FASTFORWARD/REWIND TAPESEEK Thefastforward/rewindleveremploys2-stepoperation. Raisingtheleveronestepisusedforfastforw
20、ard, while loweringtheleveronestepisusedforfastrewind.Fast forward/rewindcanbecancelledbyraisingorlowering theleveragainonestep.Raisingorloweringthefastfor- ward/rewindlevertwosteps(asfarasItwillgo)activates thetapeseekoperation.“SEEK”willappearontheLiquid CrystalDisplay.Raisingtheleverautomatically
21、movesthe tapetothenextselectiononthetapeforplayback.Lower- ingtheleverreturnsthetapetothebeginningofthecur- rentselectionforplayback. Tape“SEEK”willonlyfunctionIffoursecondsofsilence existbetweenselections.However,excessiverecord playerstylusnoise,duetodustorscratchesontherecord onhome-recordedtapes
22、mayinterferewiththesefunc- tions. Thecassetteautomaticallyejectsfromtheunit iftape settingoperationscannotbecompletedwithina fewsec- onds.Thismaybecausedbyafaultyordamagedcas- sette.Determinethecauseoftheproblemorusea differentcassette. 4.PROGRAM Pressthevolumeknobtoreversethecurrentdirectionof tape
23、transport.Thetapewillautomaticallyreversewhen theendofeithersideisreached. 5.DOLBYNOISEREDUCTION DolbyNoiseReductionreducesthelevelof“tapehiss” inherentincassettesby“encoding”thetape.Useofthe DolbyNRfunctionwithnon-DolbyNRtapeswilldecrease highfrequencyresponse.BynotusingtheDolbyNRfunc- tionwithDolb

25、ETALtapes.Whenahighbiased tape(includingmetal)IsInserted,theunitwillautomati- callychangetothecorrectequalizationleveland“MTL” willbeIndicatedontheliquidcrystaldisplay. 8.SKIPBLANK(SB)(Tli) Theskipblankfunctioncausestheunit toautomatically advancethetapetothenextrecordedportionwhena blanksectionofta

WhenalongunrecordedportionIsdetectedattheendofa tape,theunitadvancesthetapetotheendand then switchestotheothersideofthetape.Theindicator“SB” appearsonthedisplaywhentheskipblank(SB)button is pressed.Additionally“SEEK”willbedisplayedwhile the tapeisautomaticallyadvance
