Servicemitteilung zu AE 2990 AFS v. 21.2.2011 Problembericht: Bei einigen Gerten der ersten Produktionsserie Dezember 2011 wurde bemngelt, dass die Sendefrequenz in SSB bei starker Modulation einen kurzen Einschwingvorgang vollfhrt. Diese

2、r uert sich darin, dass z.B. beim Pfeifen in das Mikrofon der Pfeifton whrend der ersten 10.20 Millisekunden etwa 100.200 Hz neben der Frequenz liegt. Eine Gegenstation wird den Ton als nicht konstant bezeichnen, er ist zuerst neben der Frequenz und wird dann sauber. In Foren wird der Effekt von den

3、 Usern als Eiern“ beschrieben, technisch trifft der Begriff Jitter den Sachverhalt besser. Bei Zurckregeln der Mikrofonverstrkung wird der Effekt schwcher, ebenso nach lngerer Betriebszeit des Gerts. Ursache: Der Lastwechsel der ansteigenden Sendeleistung bei SSB beim ersten Sprechen bewirkt eine un

4、erwnschte HF Rckwirkung auf den VCO. Die Phasenregelschleife erkennt das als Frequenzablage und regelt nach. Das Regelverhalten reagiert dabei kurzzeitig wie ein berschwingen. Abhilfe: 1. nderung eines Standard SMD Elkos von 2.2F in einen Tantal-Elko 1 F (gelb) in der Phasenregelschleife nach obenst

5、ehendem Foto. 2. Zustzlich kann man auch noch einen zustzlichen Widerstand von ca. 10 kOhm ber die im Bild gezeigten Kontakte des Pfostensteckers (3. Kontaktebene von unten gerechnet, entspr. R 203) legen. Dieser Widerstand wird aber nicht empfohlen, wenn jemand Wert auf gutes Einrasten auch im unte

6、rsten und obersten der 400 Kanal-Bnder Wert legt (ggf. ausprobieren). Alan Electronics besttigt hiermit die Unbedenklichkeit der nderungen in Bezug auf die CE Konformitt. 7、ncy jitter” effect during strong SSB modulation. The problem occurs as frequency shift of about 100-200 Hz especially if users produce whistle tones into the microphone during the first 10.20 milliseconds of the tone duration. Distant stations report that the tone is not constant and becomes ok late

8、r. Reducing the MIC Gain setting can eliminate the problem. The effect becomes as well better after some time of operation of the radio. Cause: A negative feedback from rising output power with SSB modulation can cause a short time frequency shift reaction of the VCO. The PLL and phase comparator ci

9、rcuits then try to compensate the VCO Varicap voltage. Solution: 1. Change the original SMD standard capacitor 2.2 F into a Tantalum capacitor of 1F capacity (yellow on above photo) 2. Additionally the effect can be further reduced by adding an additional resistor 10 kOhm parallel to the PCB plug co

10、ntacts of the third row (seen from bottom). (Info: these contact points connect to R 203 on main board). Because this additional resistor may cause longer lock-in periods on lowest and highest 400 CH band frequencies, we do not recommend this modifications to users who should use this configuration. In that case we recommend to check the lock behaviour with and without resistor. This modification is allowed by Alan Electronics GmbH and does not have any influence on the Conformity behaviour.
