Extreme caution should be observed when operating this device. If you have any questions regarding RF exposure and
、 safety standards please refer to the Federal Communications Commission Office of Engineering and Technologys report on Evaluating Compliance with FCC Guidelines for Human Radio Frequency Electromagnetic Fields (OET Bulletin 65). RWARNING HIGH VOLTAGE! NEVERat- tach an antenna or internal antenna co
、nnector during transmission. This may result in an electrical shock or burn. RWARNING! NEVER operate the transceiver with a headset or other audio accessories at high vol- ume levels. Hearing experts advise against continuous high volume operation. If you experience a ringing in your ears, reduce th
、e volume or discontinue use. RCAUTION! NEVER change the internal settings of the transceiver. This result in reduced transceiver performance and/or damage to the transceiver. In particular, incorrect settings for transmitter circuits, such as output power, idling current, etc., might dam- age the ex
、pensive fi nal devices. The transceiver warranty does not cover any problems caused by unauthorized internal adjustment. RNEVERapply AC to the DC13.8V jack on the transceiver rear panel. This could cause a fi re or ruin the transceiver. RNEVERapply more than 16 V DC, such as a 24 V battery, to the D
、C13.8V jack on the transceiver rear panel. This could cause a fi re or ruin the transceiver. RNEVERlet metal, wire or other objects touch any internal part or connectors on the rear panel of the transceiver. This may result in an electric shock. RNEVERexpose the transceiver to rain, snow or any liqu
、ids. RNEVERinstalling the transceiver in a place with- out adequate ventilation. Heat dissipation may be af- fected, and the transceiver may be damaged. RNEVERoperate or touch the transceiver with wet hands. This may result in an electric shock or damage to the transceiver. AVOID using or placing th
、e transceiver in areas with temperatures below 10C (+14F) or above +50C (+122F). Be aware that temperatures on a vehicles dashboard can exceed 80C (+176F), resulting in per- manent damage to the transceiver if left there for ex- tended periods. AVOID placing the transceiver in excessively dusty en-
、vironments or in direct sunlight. AVOID placing the transceiver against walls or putting anything on top of the transceiver. This will obstruct heat dissipation. Place unit in a secure place to avoid inadvertent use by children. During mobile operation, DO NOT operate the trans- ceiver without runni
、ng the vehicles engine. When transceiver power is ON and your vehicles engine is OFF, the vehicles battery will soon become ex- hausted. Make sure the transceiver power is OFF before start- ing the vehicle. This will avoid possible damage to the transceiver by ignition voltage spikes. During maritim
、e mobile operation, keep the transceiver and microphone as far away as possible from the mag- netic navigation compass to prevent erroneous indica- tions. BE CAREFUL! The heatsink will become hot when op- erating the transceiver continuously for long periods. BE CAREFUL! If a linear amplifier is con
、nected, set the transceivers RF output power to less than the lin- ear amplifi ers maximum input level, otherwise, the lin- ear amplifi er will be damaged. The LCD display may have cosmetic imperfections that appear as small or dark spots. This is not a mal- function or defect, but a normal characte
、ristic of LCD displays. Use Icom microphones only (supplied or optional). Other manufacturers microphones have different pin assignments, and connection to the IC-756PROIII may damage the transceiver.
