Scope This manual describes Radio Set AN/PRC-64A. The manual covers installation, operation, and maintenance. It includes instructions for clea

32、ning, checking, and inspecting the equipment and replacing the battery. The organizational mainte nance chapter includes information on trouble shooting and repair procedures within the capabilities of the organizational repair techni cian. 1-2. Purpose and Use (fi g. l-D Radio Set AN/PRC-64A is a battery operated, crystal controlled, radio transceiver which oper ates in the frequency ra

41、nge of 2.2 to 6.0 megahertz (MHz). It receives amplitude modulated (am), single sideband (ssb) voice transmissions and continuous wave (cw) radio telegraph code trans missions. It also transmits am voice or cw code. Operating frequency is determined by crystals installed in both transmitter and rece

42、iver and transmitter channel selection switches. The AN/ PRC-64A is housed in a waterproof case which contains the radio set, headphones, microphone, alignment tools and spare parts. The case is carried in a carrying bag which also contains reels of antenna wire, counterpoise wire, and transmis sion
