It containsallre- quired service information for th

6、e equipment andis currentasof the publication data. Changes which may occur after publication are coveredbyeither Service Bulletins or Manual Revisions. These are issuedasre- quired. ORDERING REPLACEMENT PARTS When ordering replacement parts or equipment in- formation, the full part identification n

7、umber shouldbe included. This applies toallparts: components, kits, or chassis. If the part numberisnot known, include the chassis or kit number of which itisa part, and a suffi- cient descriptionofthe required component for proper identification. PERSONNEL SAFETY The following precautions are recom

DONOT transmit untilallRFconnectors are verified secure and any open connectors are properly termi- nated. 11、ssory items. If anyitemis missing, please contact KENWOOD immediately. 2.L1CI;NSING REQUIREMENTS Federal regulations require a station license for each radio installation (mobile or base)beobtainedbythe equipment owner. The licenseeisresponsible for en- suring transmitter power, frequency,anddeviati

12、on are within the limits permitted by the station license. Transmitter adjustments maybeperformed only by a licensed technician holdinganFCCfirst, second or general class commercial radiotelephone operatorsli- cense. Thereisnolicense required to install or operate the radio. 3.PRE-INSTALLATION CHECK

13、OUT 3-1. Introduction Eachradioisadjusted and tested before shipment. However, itisrecommended that receiver and trans- mitter operationbechecked for proper operation be- fore installation. 3-2. Testing The radio shouldbetested completewithallcabling andaccessoriesasthey will be connectedinthe final

14、 installation.Transmitterfrequency,deviation, and power output shouldbechecked,asshould receiver sensitivity,squelchoperation,and audiooutput. OTequipment operation shouldbeverified. 3 TK-760/762 GENERAL 4 4.PLANNING THEINSTAllATION 4-1. General Inspect the vehicle and determinehowand where the radi

15、o antenna and accessories willbemounted. Plancable runs for protection against pinching or crushing wiring, and radio installation to prevent over- heating. 4-2. Antenna The favored location foranantennaisinthe center of a large, flat conductive area, usually at the roof cen- ter. The trunk lidispre

16、ferred, bond the trunk lid and vehicle chassis using ground straps to ensure the lidis at chassis ground. 4-3. Radio The universal mount bracket allows the radio tobe mountedina variety of ways.8esure the mounting surfaceisadequate to support the radios weight. Al- lowsufficient space around the rad

17、io for air cooling. Position the radio close enough to the vehicle operator to permit easy access to the controls when driving. 4-4. DCPower and wiring 1.This radio maybeinstalledinnegative ground elec- trical systems only. Reverse polarity will cause the cable fuse to blow. Check the vehicle ground

18、 polar- ity before installation to prevent wasted timeand effort. 2.Connect the positive power lead directly to the ve- hicle battery positive terminal. Connecting the Posi- tive lead to any other positive voltage sourceinthe vehicleisnot recommended. CAUTION IfDCpoweristo be controlled by the vehic

19、le ignition switch, a switching relay should be usedtoswitch the positivepowerlead.Thevehicle ignition switch then controls DC to the relay coil. 3.Connect the ground lead directlytothebattery negative terminal. 4.The cable providedwiththe radioissufficient to handle the maximum radio current demand

20、. If the cable mustbeextended, be sure the additional wire issufficient for the current tobecarriedandlength ofthe added lead. 5.INSTALLATION PLANNING - CONTROL STATIONS 5-1. Antenna system Control station. The antenna system selection de- pendsonmany factorsandisbeyond the scope of this manual. You

21、r KENWOOD dealercanhelp you select anantenna system that will best serve your particular needs. 5-2. Radio location Select a convenient location for your control station radio whichisascloseaspractical to the antenna cable entry point. Secondly, use your systems power supply (which supplies the volt

22、age and current required for your system). Make sure sufficient aircanflowaround the radio and power supply to allow adequate cooling. SERVICE This radioisdesigned for easy servicing. Refer to the schematic diagrams, printed circuit board views, andalignment procedures containedinthis manual. Note W

23、hen you modify your radioasdescribedinsystem set-up, take the following precaution. The rating of pin 7 (58) of the accessory connector cable(KCT-19)on the rear of the radioisl3.6V(lA). Introduction The TK-760/762 transceiverisprogrammed usingan IBMPCor compatible machine, a programming inter- face(KPG-4),and a programming disk (KPG-29D).Fig- ure 1 shows the setup foranIBMPC. 6 Programmingdisk (KPG-29

29、Dl 1-2. KPG-4 Description (OptionalPCprogramming interface cable) TheKPG-4isreeded to connect the TK-760/762 to the computer.Ithasa circuitinthe D-subconnector (25-pin) case that converts the RS-232C logic level to TTL level.TheKPG-4plugisconnected to external socket of the TK-760/762 and to the com

30、puterbya conversion cable (option)witha 9-pin female connec- tor and a 25-pin male connector. 1-3. ProgrammingSoftwareDescription KPG-29Disthe programming software for theTK- 760/762, suppliedona 3.5 or 5.25 floppy disk. This software runs under MS-DOS (version 3.3 or later)on anIBM-PC/XT,AT,orPS2,o

31、r on a compatible machine. Datacanbe input to or read from the TK-760/762,and editedonthescreen.Programmeddata can be printed. Fig. 1 Communicationport(RS-232Cl 1-4. Tuningcanbedone usinganIBMPCand KPG-29D, inthe same wayasinpanel tuning mode.Youcan carry out panel tuning by selecting test mode on the KPG-29D menu screen

CloneMode(Figure21 Programmed dataistransferred from one trans- ceiver to another by using a microphone cable. 1.Connect the master set to the slave setwithbut

34、 the master setisTK-760 only. 2.Turn the slave set on. 3.Hold down theCHTjkey, turn the master set on, and keep theCHTjkey down fortwomore sec- onds.-C- appears on the display to indicate that clone mode has been entered. INSTALLATION 1.Accessory Connection Cable (KCT-19 : Option) The KCT-19isanacce

35、ssory connection cable for connecting external equipment. The connector has15 pins and the necessary signal lines are selected for use. 1-1. InstallingtheKCT-19inthetransceiver 1.Remove the upper and lower halves of the trans- ceiver case, and lift theDCcord bushing (0)from the chassis. 2.Remove the

Themark appears and dataissent from the master settothe slave set. -PC- appearsonthe slave set toshow that itisreceiving data. 5.When cloningiscomplete, themarkonthe mas- ter set disappearsand-C- changes toEND.The slavesetisautomatically reset an

37、d enters user mode. If cloning fails, the master set shows ErrOr.Re- peat steps 4 and5. If you wishtoclone several sets, switch eachof them on and repeat 4 and5. The ignition function lets you turn the powerto the transceiver onandoffwiththe car ignition key. If you use the Horn Alert function,

42、youcanturn the function off while driving with the ignition key. 2-1. Installation procedure 1.Open the upper caseofthe transceiver. 2.Insert thetwocables(0)withconnectors from the KAP-l switch unit into the connectorsonthe trans- ceiver. 3
