Mnmum audo level s pre-programmed. w FUNCTION DISPLAY Dsplays a varety of nformaton, such as an operatng channel number/name, 5-tone code, DTMF numbers and audble condton, etc. NOTE: The above functons depend on pre-programmng. e UP/DOWN / KEYS Pu

11、sh to select the operatng channel. Can be programmed for one of several functons by your dealer. (Same as P0 to P3 keys) r POWER SWITCH POWER Push to turn the power ON and OFF. 12、RIPTION 2 1PANEL DESCRIPTION t DEALER-PROGRAMMABLE KEYS P0 to P3 Desred functons can be programmed ndependently by your dealer. y MICROPHONE CONNECTOR Connect the suppled or optonal mcrophone. NEVER connect non-specied mcrophones. The pn assgnments may be dfferent and the transcever may be damaged.

13、D MICROPHONE The suppled or optonal mcrophone has a PTT swtch and a hanger hook. The followng functons are avalable when the mcrophone s on or off hook: - Automatc scan start when on hook. - Automatc prorty channel selecton when off hook. - Sets to Inaudble condton (mute condton) when on hook. - Set

14、s to Audble condton (unmute condton) when off hook. (Op- tonal UT-109 (#02)/UT-110 (#02) SCRAMBLER UNIT s requred.) 3 1PANEL DESCRIPTION Programmable function keys The followng functons

16、 can be assgned to P0, P1, P2, P3, and programmable functon keys. Consult your Icom dealer for detals concernng your trans- cevers programmng. In the followng explanatons, programmable functon names are bracketed. The specic swtch used to actvate the func- ton depends on programmng. CH UP AND DOWN K

17、EYS CH UP CH DN Select an operatng channel. Select a transmt code channel after pushng the TX CH key. Select a DTMF channel after pushng the DTMF key. Select a scan group after pushng and holdng the SCAN key. BANK KEY BANKSelect and determne a bank number. u 2/5TONE INDICATOR Appears when the specie

18、d 2/5-tone call s receved. i ALPHANUMERIC DISPLAY Dsplays the CH number, 5-tone ndcaton, DTMF num- bers, Audble ndcaton, etc. NOTE: When the alphanumerc dsplay blnks and trans- mttng becomes mpossble, check that the DC battery voltage has not dropped below 8 V or that the antenna s not tuned properl

19、y or the antenna connecton s faulty. 4 1PANEL DESCRIPTION SCAN START/STOP KEY Push ths key to start scannng; and push agan to stop. NOTE: Place the mcrophone on hook to start scannng. Take the mcrophone off hook to stop scannng. SCAN TAG KEY TAGAdds or deletes the selected channel to the scan group.

20、 PRIORITY CHANNEL KEYS Push these keys to select prorty A or prorty B channel, respectvely. OPERATING CHANNEL KEYS MR-1 MR-2 MR-3 MR-4 Select an operatng channel drectly. MONITOR KEY MONIActvates one of (or two of) the followng functons on each channel ndependently: Push and hold the key to unmute t

21、he channel (audo s emtted; Audble condton). Push the key to toggle between the mute and unmute condtons (toggles between Audble and Inaudble). Push the key to mute the channel (sets to Inaudble only). Push the key to unmute the channel (sets to Audble only). Push the key after communcaton s inshed t

22、o send a reset code. NOTE: The unmute condton (Audble cond- ton) may automatcally return to the mute con- dton (Inaudble condton) after a specfed perod dependng on the pre-settng. LOCK KEY LOCK Push ths key for 1 sec. to lock all programmable keys except the followng: CALL (ncl. CAL A and CAL B), MO

23、NI and EMER keys. 5 1PANEL DESCRIPTION OUTPUT POWER SELECTION KEYS Select the transmt output power temporarly, or permanently, dependng on the pre-settng. Contact your dealer for the output power level for each selecton. TALK AROUND KEY TATurns the talk around functon ON and OFF. The talk around fun

24、cton equalzes the transmt fre- quency to the receve frequency for moble-to-moble communcaton. WIDE/NARROW KEY Push ths key to toggle the bandwdth between wde or narrow. DTMF AUTODIAL KEY DTMF Push ths key to dsplay the text of the DTMF chan- nel number and set the desred channel number va the / key.

25、 Then, push ths key agan to transmt a specied DTMF code. CALL KEY Transmt a 2-tone, 5-tone code. Call transmsson s necessary before you call another staton dependng on your sgnalng system. The CAL A and/or CAL B keys may be avalable when your system employs selectve Indvdual/Group calls. Contact you

26、r dealer about whch call s assgned to each key. EMERGENCY KEY EMERPush and hold the key to transmt an emergency call. If you want to cancel the emergency call, push and hold (or push) the key agan before transmttng the call. Dependng on the pre-settng, the emergency call s transmtted one tme only, o

27、r repeatedly, untl recevng a control code. HOOK SCAN When the Hook Scan functon s turned ON, push ths key to stop scannng temporarly. Push ths key agan to re-start scannng. TX CODE KEY TX CH Select a transmt 5-tone code (staton code) chan- nel. 6 1PANEL DESCRIPTION SCRAMBLER KEY SCRM Push and hold t

28、o turn the voce scrambler func- ton ON. Push ths key to turn the voce scrambler func- ton OFF. NOTE: The optonal UT-109 (#02) or UT-110 (#02) VOICE SCRAMBLER UNIT s requred. - UT-109 : Non-rollng type. 32 codes are avalable. - UT-110 : Rollng type. Provdes hgher com- muncaton securty. 1020 (4 groups

29、 255) codes are avalable. Ths transcever requres verson #02 of these unts. Do not nstall verson #01, as they are not compatble. Some PC board modfcatons are requred when nstallng UT-109 or UT-110. Please refer to Optonal UT-109 or UT-110 nstallaton. (p. 14) Please contact your dealer for detals. USE

30、R SET MODE KEY SET Changes the contents of the tems n the User Set mode. Please refer to p. 10. Push and hold ths key for 1 sec. to enter set mode. Push ths key agan momentarly to select the desred tem. Push / to set the desred level/cond- ton. Push and hold ths key agan to ext set mode. User set mo

31、de also avalable va the Power ON func- ton. 7 2 OPERATION Turning power ON q Push to turn the power ON. w If the transcever s programmed for a start up passcode, nput the dgt codes as drected by your dealer. The keys n the table below can be used for password nput: The transcever detects numbers n t

32、he same block as dentcal. Therefore “01234” and “56789” are same. e When the “PASSWORD” ndcaton does not clear after n- puttng 4 dgts, the nput code number s ncorrect. In ths case, turn the power off and start over. Channel selection Several types of channel selecton are avalable. The meth- ods may

33、dffer accordng to your system setup. NON-BANK TYPE: Push / to select the desred operatng channel n sequence; or, push one of the CH 1 to CH 4 keys to select a channel drectly. BANK-TYPE: Push BANK to select the desred bank number or name. AUTOMATIC SCAN TYPE: Channel settng s not necessary for ths t

34、ype. When turnng the power ON, the transcever automatcally starts scannng. Scannng stops when recevng a call or when takng the m- crophone off hook. 35、cevng a call, adjust the audo output level to a comfortable lstenng level. TRANSMITTING: q Take the mcrophone off hook. 2-tone, 5-tone mute may be released. (The audble condton s selected and “” appears.) A prorty channel may be selected automatcally. w Wat for the channel to become clear. The chann

36、el s busy when “” appears. e Push the CALL key when ntatng a call from your sde. Coded audo may be heard from the transcever, then “” ap- pears. Ths operaton may not be necessary dependng on your sgnal- ng system. Contact your dealer. r Whle pushng and holdng PTT, speak nto the mcro- phone at your n

37、ormal voce level. t Release PTT to receve. IMPORTANT!: To maxmze the readablty of your sgnal; Pause brely after pushng PTT. Hold the mcrophone 5 to 10 cm (2 to 4 nches) from your mouth, then speak nto the mcrophone at a nor- mal voce level. D Transmitting notes Transmit inhibit function The transcev

38、er has several nhbt functons whch restrct transmsson under the followng condtons: - The channel s n mute condton (Inaudble condton; “” does not appear). - Channel s busy. - A matched/un-matched CTCSS code s receved. - The selected channel s a receve only channel. Time-out timer After contnuous trans

39、msson for a pre-programmed perod, the tme-out tmer s actvated causng the transcever to stop transmttng and automatcally select receve. Penalty timer Once the tme-out tmer s actvated, transmsson s further nhbted for a perod determned by the penalty tmer. 9 2OPERATION D TX code channel selection If th

40、e transcever has a TX CH key, the dsplay can be tog- gled between the operatng channel number (or name) and TX code channel number (or name). When the TX code chan- nel number (or name) s dsplayed, the / keys select the TX code channel. To select a TX channel: q Push TX CHa TX code channel appears.

41、w Push / to select the desred TX code channel. e After selectng, push TX CH to set. Returns to the stand-by mode. r Push CALL to transmt the selected TX code. D TX code number selection If the transcever has a TX CH key, TX code contents can be changed wthn the allowable dgts. To select a TX code: q

42、 Push TX CHa TX code number appears and the irst dgt blnks. w Push / to select the desred number of the blnk- ng dgt. e Push TX CH to enter the selected number and the next dgt wll start blnkng automatcally. r Repeat step w and e to nput all allowed dgts. t Push CALL to transmt the selected TX code.

43、 D DTMF transmission If the transcever has a DTMF key, the automatc DTMF transmsson functon s avalable. Up to 7 DTMF channels may be avalable. To transmit a DTMF code: q Push DTMFa DTMF code channel appears. w Push / to select the desred DTMF channel. e Push and hold DTMF to transmt the DTMF code on

44、 the selected DTMF channel. D Scrambler function The UT-109 (#02) or UT-110 (#02) optonal voce scrambler unt provdes hgh performance prvate communcaton be- tween statons wth the same scrambler codes. To turn the scrambler function ON and OFF: q Push and hold SCRM to turn the scrambler functon ON. w

45、Push SCRM to turn the functon OFF. D User set mode User set mode s accessed at power ON and allows you to set seldom-changed settngs. In ths case you can “custom- ze” transcever operaton to sut your preferences and operat- ng style. Entering the user set mode: q Whle pushng and holdng and , push POWER to enter user set mode ON, allowng you to set seldom- changed settngs. w Push and hold P0 to select the approprate tem.
