I , Precautions Before you use this scanner, please read and observe the following: Earphone Warning! Be sure to use only the recommended optional monaural earphone(EPOO9). You may also use

2、 a 320 stereo headset.Use of an incorrect earphoneor stereo headset may be potentiallyhazardousto your hearing.The output of the Phone jack is monaural, but you will hear it in both headphonesof a stereo headset. Set the Volume to a comfortableaudio level coming from the speakerbefore plugging in th

3、e monaural earphoneor a stereo headset of the proper impedance(320).Otherwise you might experiencesome discomfort or possible hearing damage if the Volume sud- denly becomestoo loud because of the Vol- ume Control or Squelch Control setting. 17、 Your scannersnickel-cadmiumbattery can power the scanner for up to 5 hours on a full charge. Before you use the scanner the first time, and wheneverthe BA TT indicator appears, you should fully charge the battery. Notes: .Install the battery before you charge it. .When the BATTindicator appears, th

18、ere is about 10 minutes of power left. If you dont turn off the scanner within 10 minutes, it automaticallyturns off to prevent the battery from fully discharging. BanksandChannels Banks and channels are the way stored frequenciesare organizedin your scanner. .A channel is a memory location where you store a frequency. The channel

22、sin the UBC3000XL T are numbered1 - 400. .A bank is a group of channels.The UBC3000XL T has 20 banks with 20 channelsin each. You can turn each bank on or off to control whether its channelsare included during scanning. When you turn off a bank, its channels are not erased, but are only temporarilye

23、xcluded from scanning.This allows you to customise your scanning without constantlydeleting and re-programmingthe channel frequencies. You can also temporarilylock out individual channels within a bank during scanning. This lets you further customiseyour scanning without deleting channel frequencies

ScanningVersus Searching Scanningand searchingare similar in that they both involve finding active frequencieswithin a group of frequencies.The differenceisScanning looks only at a group of programmed frequenciesthat are stored in the scanners channels and groupe
