These have been pre-calibrated for absolute power levels with reference to 1mW (dBm) for 850nm, 1300nm, 1310nm and 1550nm laser wavelengths. A further ten wavele
10、ngths can be programmed in at the factory. With its high-resolution reading (to 0.01 dBm) and wide dynamic range (+10dBm to 70dBm for MPM 2000, +20dBm to 60dBm for MPM 2000H) this instrument favours single mode operation and is supplied with a single- mode patch lead. However it can also be used wit
11、h multi-mode fi bre optic cables and corresponding multi-mode patch leads are available in the Accessories. With such a wide dynamic resolution, this product is ideal for CATV and other long distance transmission applications. 5 1.0 User Controls and Display 1.1 ON/OFF Switch To turn the unit on, de

There are multiple techniques to achieve these types of tests, but a typical procedure is detailed below: 2.1 Opt
19、ical Loss Testing Take an optical light source and power meter with appropriate patch cords and mating adapter (uniter) to match the optical fi bre under test. Clean all the connectors and connect the light source via the fi rst patch cord, the uniter and the second patch cord to the power meter so
20、the attenuation of both cords can be eliminated. The link to be tested is then inserted between them so the optical loss associated only with this link can be found. This test is normally repeated multiple times with the interconnections between the patch cord and the fi bre under test disconnected
21、and reconnected before each time and an average result taken to ensure repeatability and stability. 2.2 Optical Continuity Testing Use an optical light source (of a known output power) and power meter with patch leads of a known optical loss and a uniter matched to the optical fi bre under test. Cle

Measure the output of the light source through the fi bre under test and check that it is above a pre- determined power level. This is a more simple go, no go test. 2.3 Acceptance Testing of Fibre T
