9、terminalsof theinstrument.Anexternalsinewavewhichistobesquareisfedintothein- strumentthroughtheseterminals.ThecontrolmarkedINPUTisusedtocontrol theamplitudeoftheinputvoltage.ThIScontroliscalibratedfrom0to100in arbitraryunits. OSC.D601,-Thistoggleswitchisprovidedsothatanexternalvoltageor a60cyclesvol

10、agefromasecondaryofthepowertransformer,maybesupplied totheinputoftheinstrument.WhentheswitchisintheOSC.positiontheex- ternalvoltageISused.Inthe601,positionthevoltagetakenfromthepowertrans- formerisused.TheINPUTcontroldoesnotcontroltheamplitudeoftheinternal voltage. OFFDON-Thistoggleswitchcontrolsthe

Fuse-Thefuseislocatedinafuseblocknexttothepowercableonthe undersideofthechassis.Removethebottomplatetogainaccesstothefuse. Oper

13、ation Theprocedureforoperatingthisinstrumentisasfollows: 1.TurnthepowerswitchtoON.ConnecttheOUTPUTterminalsto theequipmentundertest. 2.Ifa60squarewaveisdesired,settheOSC.-60toggleswitch tothe60position. 3.SetthetoggleswitchtotheOSC.positionandapplyasinewave voltageofthedesiredfrequencytotheINPUTterm

14、inalsifasquarewaveother thanthefrequencyofthepowerlineisdesired. CAUTION ThemaximumvoltageappliedtotheINPUTterminalsmustnotexceed 200voltsRMS. 4.Iftheinputvoltagedoesnotexceedapproximately25volts,the INPUTcontrolshouldbesetat100.Thiscontrolmaybeusedtoreducethe inputvoltagewhenvoltagesabove25voltsare

Whenbalancedoutputisdesired,thebalancebetweenthetwosidesof theoutputcircuitcanbemeasuredwithavoltmeter.ConnectaDCvoltmeter betweenthetwoOUTPUTterminalsandmeasurethevoltage.Avoltage betweentheterminalsofnotmorethan3voltsrepresentsasatisfactory balance. Theoutputcircuitmaybeusedforsinglee

16、ndedoperationbyconnecting theequipmentbeingdrivenbetweentheground(G)terminalandeitherofthe otherOUTPUTterminals.Itisnecessarytouseacouplingcapacitorand gridresistorbetweentheoutputoftheModel2l0Aandthegridofthetube beingdrivenwhentheoutputcircuitisconnectedforsingleendedoperation. 19、s. Twopowersuppliesareprovidedtomeettherequirementsofthe directcoupledamplifier. Maintenance CoverandBottomPlateRemoval- Thecoverisremovedbyunscrewingthefourscrewswhichfasten thecovertothebackoftheinstrumentandslidingthecovertowardtherear oftheinstrument. Thebottomplateisremovedbyunscrewingthefoursc

20、rews,onein eachcornerofthebottomplate,whichfastentheplatetothechassis. TubeReplacement-= WhenreplacingtubeV5and/orV7.theoutputshouldbecheckedto seethatthereplacementtubehasnotcausedexcessiveunbalance.Itmay benecessarytotryseveraltubesbeforeasatisfactorytubeisfound.
