Thesetwofre- quencies are processed withintheinstr,umenttoprovide adcoutputwhichisproportionaltothephase difference betweenthetwoinputsignals. Thedcouptutcan be usedtodrive apotentiometerorgalva- nometertyperecorder for a permanent rec

PREPARATION FORUSE Set115/230volt switch ontherear paneltoexposethecorrect numbers fortheac line voltage used.Connect power cordtotheinstrument and an ac receptacle.Turn power switch on and select 5 MHz, 1 MHz, or 100kHz positiontocorrespond withthefrequencistobe applied. T

5、o calibratetheZERO ADJ and FULL SCALE ADJ controls, applythesame input frequency sourcetobothINPUT 1 and INPUT 2. Then con- necttherecordertobe usedtotherear panel OUPTUT jack.Push ZERO ADJbuttonand adjustZEROADJ control for zerooutputas indicatedontherecorder.Push FULL SCALE ADJbuttonand adjust FUL

6、L SCALE ADJ controlforfull scale on recorder. The adjustment rangeofthefront-panelFULLSCALE ADJ control may be centeredbytheCOARSE FULL SCALE controlontherearoftheinstrument.Repeat the zero and full scale adjustments untilbothoutputsare correct. OPERATION AftertheK05-5060Aiscalibrated, connectthetwo

7、frequenciestobe comparedtoINPUT 1 and INPUT 2. Theinputlevel should be between0.5Vrmsand 1.1 rmsforbothinputs. Thedcfor driving a recorderis fromtherear panel OUTPUT jack.UsebothOUTPUT terminals, sincebothare above ground. CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION TheK05-5060Apower supply circuits provide regulated +20 v

8、oltsdctooperatetheinstrument. Theoutput voltageisadjustable by a control mounted onthepower supply printed circuit board.Input voltagetothe K05-5060A can be115or230Vac, 10%,48to440Hzasselectedbya rear panel SELECTOR switch. The K05-5060A phasecomparatorassembly circuits consistoftwochannels which re

9、ceivethetwoinput signalstobe compared andcontroltheon/offdutycycleofa flip-flop circuit. The rectangular waveoutput fromtheflip-flopisintegratedtogive anoutputdcsignal whichisproportionaltothephase difference betweenthetwoinputsignals.For 5MHzand 1 MHz input frequencies, an oscillatorisswitchedinand

10、 heterodyned withtheinput signalstoproduce a50kHz signalinboth channels. The full scale widthoftheRecorder chartisequaltotheperiodoftheinputsignal(thatis, for 1MHzinput, chartwidthis1 microsecond).Tocomputethefrequency errorofthe frequency under test,usethe relation- shipE=!;whereEisthefrequency err
