23、t willbe referred toasthe Mode1209A. 1-3.SPECIFICATIONS. 1-4.Table1-1lists the specifications for the Model 209A. 15.DESCRIPTION. 1-6.The Model 209Aisa versatile signal source with independent sinewaveand squarewaveoutputs at frequencies from 4Hzto 2MHz.The squarewave amplitudeisvariable to a maximu
24、mof20 volts peak-to-peakintoopencircuit.Thesinewave amplitudeisvariable to a maximumof10 volts rms into open circuit from a constant 600 ohm source. Whenworking into a 600 ohm load, the maximum output levelis5volts rms. 1-7.Balancedoutputcanbeobtainedby disconnecting the grounding strap at the rearo
25、fthe instrument. This isolates the chassis from the cabinet and line ground. Included are initial inspection procedures, power and grounding requirem
30、ents,installationinformation,and instructions for repackaging for shipment. 2-3.INITIALINSPECTION. 2-4. This instrument was carefully inspectedboth mechanically and electrically before shipment.It should be physically freeofmars or scratches and in perfect electrical order upon receipt. To confum th
31、is, the instrument should be inspected for physical damage that occurred in transit.Ifthe instrumentwas damaged in transit, me a claim with the carrier. Test the electrical performanceofthe instrument using Performance Checks outlined in Section V.Ifthereis damage or deficiency,seethe warranty on th
32、e inside front coverofthis manual. 2-5.POWERREQUIREMENTS. 2-6. The standard Model 209A will operate from any sourceof115 or 230 volts (+/-10%), at 48 to 440 Hz. With the instrument disconnected from the ac power source, move the voltage selector switch (located on the rear panel) so the designation
33、appearing on the switch matches the voltageofthe power sourcetobe used. Power dissipationisless than 7 watts. 2-7.GROUNDINGREQUIREMENTS. 2-8. To protect operating personnel, the National ElectricalManufacturersAssociatfon(NEMA) recommendsthattheinstrumentcabinetbe grounded. The standard Model 209Ais
34、equipped with a three-conductor power cable which, when plugged intoanappropriatereceptacle,groundsthe instrument.Theoffset pin on the power cable three-prong connectoristhe ground connection. 2-9. Topreservetheprotectionfeaturewhen operating the instrument from a two-contact outlet, use a three-pro
35、ngtotwo-prong adapter and connect the green pigtail on the adaptertoearth ground. 210.INSTALLATION. 2-11. TheModel209Aisfullytransistorized; therefore, no special coolingisrequired. However, the instrument should not be operated where the ambient temperature exceeds550C(1310F). 2-12.BENCHMOUNTING. 2
