1、CRT-4 Staff Telephone Installation KI-1803 RAULAND-BORG CORPORATION l 3450 West Oakton Street, Skokle, lllmois 60076-2951 l (847) 679-0900 General Information Description The The CRT4 is a dial-less telephone designed for use with the Rauland Telecenter D System 21. In addition to the standard “tip”
2、 and “ring” wiring, the CRT4 has a second pair of contacts that provide a dry con- tact when the phone is lifted off-hook. This pair of contacts is not used on Telecenter System 21. Important: Never connect the CRT4 to the modular jack of an Administrative Display Telephone: the CRT4 s extra set of
3、contacts would place a short across the display lines. Also, never connect it to a modular jack used for ringing at 90v. This Telephone is Not Hearing-Aid Compatible. Mounting Parts The telephone comes with the following mounting parts: Qty. Description 1 Modular jack 1 Short four-wire connector wit
4、h a modular plug at each end. 1 Long four-wire connector with 3 modular plug at each end. 2 #6-32 x 3 3/4 machine screws. 1 Locking clip (to secure the phone to the mounting plate). The following will need to be supplied by the user: Wiring from the Telecenter to the telephone. Single-gang electrica
5、l box. Installation These instructions describe how to mount the tele- phone. Wiring diagrams are included in the main Telecen- ter System 21 manual. The installer is responsible for complying with all local codes and the National Electrical Code or the Canadian Electrical Code. Step 1. Install the
6、electrical box in the wall vertically, and pull through the pair of wires. Step 2. Set aside the front plate from the modular jack. Orient the module in keeping with its TOP marking. Find the unused hole near each screw terminal. Pull each field wire through the appropriate hole. Step 3. Secure the
7、module to the back box with the two #6 screws provided. Use the two holes immediately inside the module s studs. Step 4. Fasten the system wires to the appropriate screw terminals. In the moudlar jack connect 7 1 (green wire) to SLC “T” conductor and RI (red wire) to SLC “S” conductor. Push the fron

If the telephone is to be desk-mounted, use the longer modular cord to connect the phone to the jack. then bet the phone in place. Skip to Step 9 0 1993 RAU

If the telephone is to be wall-mounted, locate the uni-clip rcversible hook near the hook switch on the base. Pull up on this uni-clip until it is clear of the hole, then ro
10、tate it 180” (see the illustration on page 1). Step 7. To complete the wall-mounting, orient the phone with the hook switch on top and use the shorter cord to connect the phone to the jack. Align the slots in the base of the phone with the studs on the module. then push down on the phone to seat it
11、on the studs (see the illustration at the right). Step 8. To make it more difficult for unauthorized persons to remove the phone from the wall. install the locking clip in accordance with the attached manual, KI-1569. Step 9.
