Whenever convenient, use the power supply to conserve battery life. Make sure you remove the power cord from the set and wall jack before inserting batteries. BATTERI
9、ES Batteries (not included) (See A) Insert 8 batteries, type R-20, UM-1 or D-cells, (preferably alkaline) with the correct polarity. Remote control (See B) Insert 2 batteries, type AAA, R03 or UM4 (preferably alkaline). Incorrect use of batteries can cause electrolyte leakage and will corrode the co
10、mpartment or cause the batteries to burst. Do not mix battery types: e.g. alkaline with carbon zinc. Only use batteries of the same type for the set. When inserting new batteries, do not try to mix old batteries with the new ones. Batteries contain chemical substances, so they should be disposed of
11、properly. USING AC POWER 1. Check if the AC power supply, as shown on the type plate located on the bottom of the set, corresponds to your local power supply. If it does not, consult your dealer or service center. 2. If your set is equipped with a voltage selector, adjust the selector so that it mat
12、ches with the local power supply. 3. Connect the power cord to the wall jack and the set is now ready for use. 4. To disconnect the power supply, unplug the set from the wall jack. POWER-SAVING AUTOMATIC STANDBY As a power-saving feature, the system automatically switches to standby 15 minutes after
13、 CD has reached the end and no control is operated. The type plate is located on the bottom of the set. For users in the U.K., please follow the boxed instructions Important notes. on this sheet. CONTROLPOWER SUPPLY CONNECTIONS AND CONTROLS 3 - 3 Tuning to stations (See 3) 1.Press STANDBY ONyto on,
14、then press SOURCE once or more to select FM/MW(or pressFM/MWon the remote control). = Display: shows briefly followed by waveband, frequency, and preset station number if already stored. 2.Press FM/MW once or more to select your waveband. 3.Tuning to stations: you can tune to your stations manually
15、or by automatic search tuning: Press down on or (5 or 6 on the remote control) and release button when the frequency in the display starts running. = The radio automatically tunes to a station of sufficient reception. Display shows during automatic tuning. 4.Repeat step 3 if necessary until you find
16、 the desired station. To tune to a weak station, press or briefly and repeatedly until you have found optimal reception. To improve radio reception: For FM, extend, incline and turn the telescopic antenna. Reduce its length if the signal is too strong. For MW, the set uses a built-in antenna. Direct
17、 this antenna by turning the whole set. Programming tuner stations: You can store up to a total of 30 radio stations in the memory (20 FM and 10 MW), manually or automati- cally (Autostore). Autostore Automatic programming will start from preset 1 or a chosen preset number. The set will only program
18、 sta- tions which are not in the memory already. 1.PressPRESET-/+once or more to select the preset number where programming should start. Note: If no tuner preset number is selected, default is preset 1 and all your presets will be erased. 2.Press PROG for 4 seconds or more to activate auto store pr
19、ogramming. = Display: is shown and available stations are programmed in order of waveband FM, followed by MW , the first preset station will then be played after all stations are stored automatically. Manual programming 1.Tune to your desired station (see Tuning to stations). 2.Press PROG to activat
20、e programming. = Display: PROG flashes. 3.PressPRESET-/+once or more to allocate a number from 1 to 20 for FM or 1 to 10 for MW. 4.Press PROG again to confirm. = Display: shows the preset number, waveband and the frequency of the preset station. 5.Repeat the above four steps to store other stations.
21、 Note : You can erase a preset station by storing another frequency in its place. To listen to a preset station PressPRESET-/+once or more until the desired preset station is displayed. DIGITAL TUNER Playing a CD This CD player plays Audio Discs including CD-Recordables and CD-Rewritables. 1.PressST
22、ANDBY ON yonce or more to on, then select CD SOURCE. 2.Press OPENCLOSE to open the CD door. is displayed when the CD door is open. 3.Insert a CD with the printed side facing up and press down on OPENCLOSE to close the CD door. Display show , then scrolls ,orif no CD inserted/ CD dirty, incorrectly i
23、nserted or dam- aged. 4.Press2;to start playback. 5.To pause playback press 2;. Press 2;again to resume play. = Time digits flashes during pause. 6.To stop CD playback, press 9. Note: CD play will also stop when: the CD door is opened the CD has reached the end you select an other sound source. Sele
24、cting a different track Press SEARCH or (on the remote control or ) once or repeatedly until the desired track number appears in the display. If you have selected a track number shortly after loading a disc or in the PAUSE position, you will need to press 2;to start playback. Finding a passage withi
25、n a track 1.Press and hold SEARCH or . The CD is played at high speed and low volume. 2.When you recognize the passage you want, release or . Normal playback continues. Note: During a CD program or if SHUFFLE/ REPEAT is active, searching is only possible within the same track. Different play modes:
26、SHUFFLE and REPEAT (See 4 - 7) You can select and change the various play modes before or during playback. The play modes can also be combined with PROGRAM. SHUFFLE - tracks of the entire CD/ program are played in random order SHUFFLE REPEAT ALL - to repeat the entire CD/ program continuously in ran
27、dom order REPEAT ALL - repeats the entire CD/ program REPEAT - plays the current track continuously 1.To select play mode, press MODE once or more. (SHUFFLE / REPEAT on the remote control). 2.Press2;to start playback if in the stop position. If you have selected SHUFFLE, playback starts automaticall
28、y. 3.To select normal playback, press MODE repeatedly until the various modes are no longer displayed. You can also press the 9to cancel your play mode in playing. Programming track numbers Program in the stop position to select and store your CD tracks in the desired sequence. If you like, store an
29、y track more than once. Up to 20 tracks can be stored in the memory. 1.Press SEARCH or on the set to select your desired track number. 2.Press PROG to confirm the track number to be stored. =If you attempt to program without first selecting a track number, is shown. 3.Repeat steps 1-2 to select and
30、store all desired tracks. =Display: if you try to program more than 20 tracks. 4.To start playback of your disc program, press 2; . Note: During normal playback, you can press PROG to add a current track to your program list. CD PLAYER INSTRUCTION FOR USE 3 - 4 MAINTENANCE (on the remote control 2;)
31、 Recording starts from this exact point in the track when you press RECORD 0. 6 For brief interruptions during recording, press PAUSE ;. To resume recording, press PAUSE ; again. 7 To stop recording, press STOPOPEN 9 /. Recording from the tuner 1 Tune to the desired radio station (see Tuning to radi
32、o stations). 2 Follow steps 3-7, under Synchro Start CD recording. MAINTENANCE and clean the magnetic heads A, and also the capstan B. 4 After cleaning, press STOPOPEN 9 /. Note : Cleaning of the heads can also be done by playing a cleaning cassette through once. Environmental information We have do

This set complies with the radio interference requirements of the European Union. INSTRUCTION FOR USE 3 -
35、 5 SWITCHING ON AND OFF 1.Press STANDBY ONyon the set to switch on. 2.Press SOURCE once or more to select your desired function: CD, FM, MW, GAME AUX, TAPE 3.Press STANDBY ONyto switch off the set. Note : To change from TAPEtoFM / MWorCDsource, or when you are switching off the set: first, make sure
36、 you press the tape STOP9key to end playback and all the cassette keys are released. The tone, sound settings, tuner presets and the volume level (up to a maximum volume level of VOL 20 ) will be retained in the sets memory. ADJUSTING VOLUME AND SOUND 1.Adjust the volume with the VOLUME control. = D
37、isplay shows the volume level and a number from 0-32. (See 2) 2.MAX SOUND To enhance the bass response: press MAX SOUND once or more to switch on / off. = MAX SOUND-key backlight lights up when MAX SOUND is turned on. Notes: MAX SOUND can be used when you play FM, MW, CD, TAPE and GAMEAUX source. So
38、me discs might be recorded in high modulation, which causes a distortion at high volume. If this occurs, deactivate MAX SOUND or reduce the volume. 3.EQUALIZER To adjust the bass, mid and treble frequencies press EQUALIZER once or more, then rotate VOLUME within 3 seconds to adjust each level. =Disp
39、lay briefly shows , , or level (-5 to +5) or . Note: EQUALIZER can be used during FM, MW, CD, TAPE and GAMEAUX source. To prevent sound interference the bass control options operate exclusively. You cannot combine the bass from EQUALIZER with MAX SOUND 4.GAMESOUND To adjust the game sound, press GAM
40、ESOUND once or more to select your option. =Display briefly shows , , or . Note: GAMESOUND is only available when you play in GAME AUX source. How to MUTE the sound 1.Press MUTE on the remote control to interrupt sound reproduction instantly. = Playback continues without sound and the display flashe
41、s . 2.To reactivate sound reproduction you can: press MUTE again; adjust the volume controls; change to another source. Reviewing the program In stop, press and hold down PROG for a while until the display shows all your stored track numbers in sequence. Erasing a program You can erase the contents
42、of the memory by: opening the CD door; selecting MW,FM or TAPE sound sources; pressing 9twice during playback or once in the stop position. =displayed briefly, and PROG disappears. GAMESOUND (See 8) PLAYING WITH GAMESOUND: 1.Press SOURCE once or more on the set to select the GAME AUX function (AUX o
43、n the remote control) =Display scrolls : 2.Connect your console to the cinches on the front of the set AUDIO IN ( LEFT / RIGHT) and VIDEO IN. 3.Press GAMESOUND once or more to select your game sound option. =Display briefly shows , , or . Connecting other equipment to your system Use the supplied vi
44、deo cable to connect the VIDEO OUT terminal on the back of the set to VIDEO IN on a TV or VCR for viewing or recording. Cassette playback (See 9) 1Select TAPE source. Display: shows throughout tape operation. 2Press STOPOPEN 9 / to open the cassette door. 3Insert a recorded cassette and close the ca
45、ssette door. 4Press PLAY 1 to start playback. 5To interrupt playback press PAUSE ;. To resume, press this key again. 6By pressing SEARCH 5 or 6 on the set fast winding of the tape is possible in both directions. 7To stop the tape, press STOPOPEN 9 /. The keys are automatically released at the end of
46、 a tape, except if PAUSE ;has been activated. GENERAL INFORMATION ON RECORDING Recording is permissible insofar as copyright or. other rights of third parties are not infringed. This deck is not suited for recording on CHROME (IEC II) or METAL (IEC IV) type cassettes. For recording, use only NORMAL
47、type cassettes (IEC I) on which the tabs have not yet been broken. The best recording level is set automatically. Altering the VOLUME, MAX SOUND or BASS, MID & HIGH controls will not affect the recording in progress. To protect a tape from accidental erasure, have the tape in front of you and break
48、out the left tab. If you wish to record again, cover the tabs with a piece of adhesive tape. GAMESOUNDCASSETTE RECORDER BASIC FUNCTIONS INSTRUCTION FOR USE 3 - 6 TROUBLESHOOTING No sound /power Volume not adjusted Adjust the VOLUME Mains lead not securely connected Connect the AC mains lead properly
49、 Batteries flat / incorrectly inserted Insert (fresh) batteries correctly Headphones connected to the set Disconnect headphones Electrostatic discharge/interference Unplug the set. If batteries inserted, remove batteries from the battery compartment. Press and hold STANDBY ON yfor 10 seconds, then re-plug / replace battery supply, and try activating the set again.
