18、make the best connections. G Make one of the following connections, depending on the capabilities of your existing equipment. The following guidelines are options for the best picture and sound quality available on your DVD player. Connecting to a TV If your TV has a CVBS Video input connector, 0 Co

19、nnect the CVBS VIDEO OUT on the DVD player to the CVBS VIDEO IN (cable supplied). If your TV has a S-Video input connector, 0 Connect the S-Video OUT on the DVD player to the S-Video IN (not supplied). If your TV has a Component video (Y/PB/PR)input connector, 0 Connect the Y/PB/PR VIDEO OUT on the

20、DVD player to the corresponding connector on the TV using the component video cable (not supplied). Caution: Component video and S-video can not work at the same time, so you have to set one of them to be active by the such way as shown on the chapter Video output. Warning! Never make or change conn

21、ections with the power switched on. Connect the DVD player directly to your TV, instead of eg. a VCR, to avoid distortion because DVD video discs are copy protected. 23、Audio System 1You can also listen to the sound of audio CDs and DVD video discs by connecting to an optional stereo systems. 2Connect the Left and Right AUDIO OUT on the DVD player to the Left and Right AUDIO IN on the stereo systems. Sound 1Digital audio connections provide the clearest sound. Conn

24、ect one of the DVD players DIGITAL AUDIO OUT (COAXIAL or OPTICAL) to your amplifier or receiver. 2If digital connections are not possible, connect the DVD players red and white AUDIO OUT to your amplifier, receiver, stereo or TV. Connecting to Optional Equipment GA digital component with a built-in

25、MPEG 2, Dolby Digital or DTS decoder allows you to enjoy the surround sound while producing the effect of being in a movie theater or a concert hall. If your receiver has a Dolby Digital, MPEG 2 or DTS decoder, Connect to A/V receiver with digital coaxial or optical cable G Connect the DIGITAL COAXI

26、AL AUDIO OUT of the DVD player to the corresponding input on the receiver using the normal audio or video cable supplied. Notes: If the audio format of the digital output does not match the capabilities of your receiver, the receiver will produce a strong, distorted sound or no sound at all. Prepara

27、tion DVD 724K/781 English2002.4.30, 12:05 PM10 ” English 11 Preparation Inserting batteries into the Remote Control 1Open the battery cover. 2Insert batteries with the correct polarity as indicated by the + and - symbols inside the battery compartment. 3Close the cover. + - + - CAUTION! Remove batte

28、ries if they are exhausted or not to be used for a long time. Do not use old and new or different types of batteries in combination. Batteries contain chemical substances, so they should be disposed off properly and kept away from children. Using the Remote Control GDirect the remote control at the

29、remote sensor of the DVD player. GDo not drop or give the remote control a shock. GDo not leave the remote control near extremely hot or humid place. GDo not spill water or put anything wet on the remote control. NTSC/PAL Conversion This player is equipped with a NTSC/PAL conversion feature to conve

30、rt the video output of the disc to match your TV system. The conversions supported are as below: NTSCPALNTSC NTSCPALPAL NTSCPALNTSC NTSCPALPAL DiscOutput format Type DVD VCD NTSC FormatSelected mode PAL NTSC PAL NTSCPALAUTO Notes: AUTO can only be selected when using a TV that has both the NTSC and

31、PAL systems. Slight picture distortions may occur due to this conversion. This is normal. Thus, the AUTO format is most suitable for the best picture quality. Switching On 1Switch on the TV and DVD player. 2Set the TV to the correct Video IN channel. (eg. EXT1, EXT2, AV1, AV2, AUDIO/VIDEO, etc. Plea

32、se refer to to your TV owners manual for detail) The player display lights and the default screen appears on the TV. 3If you are using an external equipment (eg. audio system or receiver), turn them on and select the appropriate input source that was used to connect to the DVD player output. Refer t

33、o the equipment owners manual for detail. Note: If TV set has Progressive Scan video input, Please connect the component video cables between DVD player and TV set for best video performance, then Press PROGRESSIVE SCAN on the front panel to select progressive scan mode. The DVD player will reboot w

34、hen you switch between progressive scan and interlaced scan by pressing PROGRESSIVE SCAN key on the front panel. 35、ard/backward speeds. 3 Press PLAY to return to the normal play back. VCDCD 1 To get slow motion effect during playback, press 3. 2 Press 3 again, you can get different playback forward speeds. 3 Press the PLAY key to return to the normal play back. NOTE: - The SLOW BACKWARD function is not available

36、 for the Super VCD/VCD/CD disc. Audio control during playback MUTE DVD VCDCD 1 Press the MUTE key to disable the sound output. 2 Press the MUTE key again to remove the mute. SURROUND SOUND DVDVCDCD The DVD player can reproduce virtual surround sound effect. 1 Press the Display key on the remote cont

37、rol. 2 Press 1 2 to highlight option 3D 3 Press 3 4 to switch it on or off. Operation Basic Playback 1Press POWER ON/OFF on the front panel. 2Press OPEN/CLOSE on the front panel to open disc loading tray. 3Place the chosen disc in the tray, with the label facing up. 4Press OPEN/CLOSE again to close

38、the tray. After recognizing this disc the player begin to playback automatically. POWER ON/OFF Notes: DVDs may have a region code. Your player will not play discs that have a region code different from the region code of your player. If Disc Lock is set to LOCK and the disc inserted is not authorize

39、d, the 4-digit code must be entered and/or the disc must be authorized (see Disc Lock). General operation Video control during playback STOP DVD VCDCD 1 You can resume the play from the point at which you stopped last time, if you just press the STOP key once. It will start from the beginning if you

40、 press the STOP key twice to stop playback. PAUSE/STEP DVD VCDCD 1 To get a still picture, press PAUSE key during playback. 2 To step forward to the next frame picture, press PAUSE key again. 3 To resume normal playback, press PLAY. SEARCH DVD VCDCD 1 To search the contents in fast speed, press the

41、2 or 1 for fast forward/backward searching. 2 Press the 1 or 2 again to increase the speed for searching. 3 Press PLAY to return to the normal playback. DVD 724K/781 English2002.4.30, 12:05 PM12 ” English 13 Operation Audio channel selection VCDCD 1 SVCD has two stereo audio channels which are used

42、for playing karaoke or the audio language selection. ( for instance, you can choose one channel for only the music background of the song while you play the karaoke.) 2 Press the AUDIO key on the remote control to select the audio channels you want. 3 VCD has only one stereo audio channel, you can s

43、elect mono left audio channel or mono right audio channel by pressing the AUDIO key on the remote control. Repeat DVD Repeat chapter/title/disc GTo repeat the current chapter, press REPEAT. GTo repeat the current title, press REPEAT a second time. GTo exit Repeat mode, press REPEAT again. VCD CD Rep

44、eat track/disc At the state of PBC OFF, GTo repeat the current track, press REPEAT. GTo repeat the entire disc, press REPEAT a second time. GTo exit Repeat mode, press REPEAT again. Repeat A-B DVD VCD CD DVD-Video Discs: repeat a sequence in a title Video and Audio CDs: repeat a sequence in a track

45、1Press REPEAT A-B at your chosen starting point. 2Press REPEAT A-B again at your chosen end point. The repeat sequence begins. 3To exit the sequence, press REPEAT A-B. 5 Disc Resume DVD VCD CD This player can resume the playback of last 5 discs, which should be unload at stop mode. 1 Load one disc,

46、which is one of last 5 discs. 2 Press PLAY when DVD player is recognizing the disc. if the information of this disc has been stored in the memory of DVD player, it will be played back from the point you stopped last time.
