16、ADED SOLDER Boards requiring use of unleaded solder are printed with the lead- free mark (LF) indicating the solder contains no lead. (Caution: Some printed circuit boards may not come printed with the lead free mark due to their particular size) : LEAD FREE MARK Unleaded solder has the following ch

17、aracteristics. Unleaded solder melts at a temperature about 40 C higher than ordinary solder. Ordinary soldering irons can be used but the iron tip has to be applied to the solder joint for a slightly longer time. Soldering irons using a temperature regulator should be set to about 350 C. Caution: T

18、he printed pattern (copper foil) may peel away if the heated tip is applied for too long, so be careful! Strong viscosity Unleaded solder is more viscous (sticky, less prone to fl ow) than ordinary solder so use caution not to let solder bridges occur such as on IC pins, etc. Usable with ordinary so

19、lder It is best to use only unleaded solder but unleaded solder may also be added to ordinary solder. 21、for servicing. Be sure to read this section before repairing the unit. NOTE OF REPAIRING THE BOARDS When the board installed by this unit is defective, replace the com- plete mounted board. Individual electrical parts that mounted on the each boards cannot be replaced. NOTE IN THE CASE OF THE REVERS

22、ING THE MAIN UNIT Before reversing the main unit, please do the following measure always. There is a possibility of damage if you did not the follow- ing measure. 23、ur turntable to a power outlet wi th the AC adaptor unti l you are fi ni shed wi th assembly. Precauti ons on placement ?Place the uni t on a level surface. ?Avoi d placi ng the uni t near electri cal appli ances (such as a televi si on, hai r dryer, or fluorescent lamp) whi ch may cause hum or noi

24、se. ?Place the uni t where i t wi ll not be subject to any vi brati on, such as from speakers, slammi ng of doors, etc. ?Keep the uni t away from di rect sunli ght, extremes of temperature, and excessi ve dust and moi sture. ?Keep the uni t away from electroni c devi ces that may emi t radi o waves

25、or electromagneti c noi se. Attachi ng the platter 1 Place the platter on the spi ndle. Keep the platter level whi le placi ng i t on the spi ndle. Spi ndle Motor pulley Platter Note Hold the platter fi rmly so as not to drop the platter as i t may cause personal i njuri es or damage to your turntab

26、le. 2 Turn the platter to the posi ti on where you can see the motor pulley through the rectangular hole wi th the ti ps of the red ri bbon taped on the platter. Red ri bbon Motor pulley 3 Peel off the adhesi ve tape, pull and hold the red ri bbon, and then hook the dri ve belt around the motor pull

27、ey. Note ?Do not twi st the dri ve belt. ?Be sure to remove i t once you have hooked the dri ve belt around the motor pulley. 4 Place the rubber mat onto the platter. Note Make sure that the chamfered si de of the rubber mat faces upward. The back si de of the rubber i s i ndi cated by the SONY i mp

28、ri nt. REPLACING THE STYLUS The stylus may become worn out, damaged, or di rty beyond cleani ng dependi ng on your use case. In such a case, replace the stylus. Note Be sure to attach the stylus protecti ve cover before you replace the stylus so as not to harm your fi ngerti ps or damage the stylus.

29、 To remove the stylus 1 Turn off your turntable and the connected audi o devi ce and unplug the AC adaptor from the power outlet. 2 Attach the stylus protecti ve cover to the stylus. 3 Hold the cartri dge body (?) wi th one hand, grasp the stylus wi th the other, and then pull the stylus i n the di

30、recti on of the arrow to remove i t from the cartri dge body. ? To attach the stylus 1 Attach the stylus protecti ve cover to the spare stylus. 2 Hold the cartri dge body (?) wi th one hand and then i nsert the tab on the spare stylus i nto the receptacle on the cartri dge body. ? 3 Push the stylus

31、i n the di recti on of the arrow unti l i t cli cks i nto place. PS-HX500 5 ADJUSTING THE TONE ARM BAL- ANCE Adjust the tone arm balance to keep the tone arm hori zontally balanced (zero balance) so that proper stylus pressure i s exerted on the vi nyl record. 1 Remove the stylus protecti ve cover.

32、Stylus protecti ve cover Note Remove the stylus protecti ve cover wi th care so as not to damage the stylus. 2 Make sure that the gauge number “0” on the anti -skati ng knob i s ali gned wi th the reference li ne. Anti -skati ng Knob 3 Attach the counterwei ght onto the back of the tone arm. Sli ght

33、ly push i n the counterwei ght and rotate i n the di recti on of the arrow unti l the face of the gauge ri ng comes close to the whi te li ne on the tone arm. Counterwei ght Whi te li ne Tip You can rotate the counterwei ght clockwi se to move i t outward or counterclockwi se (i n the di recti on of

34、 the black arrow above) to move i t i nward. 4 Unlock the tone arm lock and rai se the tone arm from the tone arm rest. Tone arm lock 5 Rotate the counterwei ght clockwi se or counterclockwi se unti l the tone arm i s hori zontally balanced. You may fi nd i t easi er to adjust the tone arm balance t

35、hat you rotate the counterwei ght a li ttle at a ti me and take your hands off to see i f the tone arm i s hori zontally balanced. Note Keep the ti p of the stylus untouched wi th the rubber mat or the platter whi le adjusti ng the tone arm balance. 6 Put the tone arm back onto the tone arm rest. AD

36、JUSTING THE STYLUS PRES- SURE AND THE ANTI-SKATING FORCE Once the tone arm i s hori zontally balanced, adjust the stylus pressure and the anti - skati ng force. 1 Rotate only the gauge ri ng on the counterwei ght to bri ng the gauge number “0” on the ri ng i nto ali gnment wi th the whi te li ne on

37、the tone arm. Gauge ri ng Note Do not rotate the counterwei ght along wi th the gauge ri ng. 2 Rotate the counterwei ght counterclockwi se to bri ng the gauge number “3” on the gauge ri ng i nto ali gnment wi th the whi te li ne on the tone arm. Tip An appropri ate stylus pressure value i s recommen

38、ded for every cartri dge. To protect the stylus and the record agai nst damage, adjust the stylus pressure to the recommended value. On your turntable, set the stylus pressure to “3.” 3 Rotate the anti -skati ng knob to bri ng the gauge number “3” i nto ali gnment wi th the reference li ne. Tip ?The

39、 anti -skati ng adjustment i s requi red to apply proper anti -skati ng force that cancels out the i nward force produced by the spi nni ng platter whi le a vi nyl record i s bei ng played. ?You need to set the anti -skati ng force to the same value as the stylus pressure you set i n step 2.
