The PROT-1 (pin6) is the port to detect the following abnormalities of the Power AMP (1) DetectionofanabnormalityintheDCoffsetvoltagefromtheSpeakerOutputterminal. IfthevoltagefromtheSpeakerOutputterminalexceedsapproximately1.2V(DC),

35、Q955orQ956willturnonandthe signalfromthePROT-1terminalwillchangetoLfromH. (2) Detectionofanabnormalcurrentfromthepowertransistors(Q713Q716). Ifanelectriccurrentofover7AflowsinQ713orQ715,Q951,Q953andQ957turnon,andthesignalfromthe PROT-1terminalwillchangetoLfromH. Ifanelectriccurrentofover7AflowsinQ71

36、4orQ716,Q952,Q954andQ957turnon,andthesignalfromthe PROT-1terminalwillchangetoLfromH. (3) DetectionofanabnormaltemperatureoftheHeatSink. IfthetemperatureoftheHeatSinkexceedsapproximately+110degreesC,theposistor(R969)willturnonQ958 andthesignalfromthePROT-1terminalwillchangetoLfromH. Ifanyoftheaboveth

37、reeabnormalitiesisdetected,thesignalfromthePROT-1terminalwillchangetoLfromH,and theprotectioncircuitwillbeactivated,thesignalfromtheSPK_OUT(pin10)changingtoHfromLandthespeaker relaysL751,L752andL753immediatelyturnedoff. WhatthisprotectionoperationresultsinafterthisdependsonhowlongthesignalfromthePRO

38、T-1hastoremainL. IfthePROT-1(pin6)recoverstoHwithinasshortaperiodoftimeasonesecondorless. TheMUTEindicatorstartsflickering,therebyindicatesthattheprotectioncircuithascomeintooperationand automaticallyturnsdownthevolume.Theprotectioncircuitisdeactivatedafterapproximately15seconds,so thatreadjustingth

39、evolumewillallownormaluseoftheunitagain.Thisprotectionoperationisintendedforthe situationwhereintheuserhasmisusedtheunittemporarilyandautomaticallyresetstheunitwhiletheampcircuitis functioningproperly. IfthePROT-1(pin6)remainsLformorethanonesecond. TheampwillbepoweredoffbytheP_ON(pin15)changingtoHfr

40、omLandPowerrelayS851turnedoffThen, theSTANDBYindicatorflickers,therebyindicatingthatanerrorhasoccurred.Thisprotectionoperationisintended forafailureintheampcircuitandimmediatelyturnsthepowerofftoavoidtheriskofanydamage. Dependingonhowtheuserishandlingtheunit,thisoperationmaybeperformednomatterifthea

41、mpisfunctioning properly. Tocheckiftheampisinorder,switchofftheunitandswitchitonagainoneminutelater.Thisactionwilldeactivate theprotectionoperation.IfthePROT-1(pin6)remainsL,whichconstitutesanabnormality,theunitshutsdown approximately3secondslaterandtheSTANDBYindicatorstartsflickering. Iftheprotecti

42、onoperationwillnotbedeactivatedafterthepoweristurnedonagain,theampcircuitmaybebroken. 2. The PROT-2 (pin7) is the port to detect abnormalities of the power supply circuit. (1) Detectionofanabnormalityinthepoweramppowersupplycircuit. Thisportmonitorsthemidpointvoltageofthepoweramppowersupplybetween+49Vand-49V.Ifthevoltageat theconnectionpointofR801andR802exceedsDC1.2V,Q903orQ904willturnontochangethesignalfromthe PROT-2(pin7)toLfromH. (2) Detectionofanabnormalityinthepreamppowersupplycircuit. Q901andQ902monitorthemidpointvoltagebetween+28Vand-28V
