As a former technician for a large service center, and owner of my own audio/video service center, I h

2、ave a good understanding of the challenges that come across your bench. Feel free to contact me at any time at for troubleshooting help and information. Technical Bulletins of Note There are a few new service bulletins that I would like to highlight, just in case you havent seen them yet on . There

3、have been a few cases where the DVD600II DVD/CD player for the JBL Cinema Pro Pack 600II was reported to stay in Standby mode, despite efforts to turn the unit on. We have created a fix for this problem in Service Bulletin #JBL2003-01. The bulletin describes procedures for checking solder connection

4、s to IC901, and checking and replacing C904 and R6. We have documented a specific procedure for the replacement and installation of the tweeter found in the JBL N28, N38 and ND310 home speakers; youll find it in Service Bulletin #JBL2003-02. Harman Kardon has addressed an issue with “hum” in all cha

5、nnels found in a few of the AVR 310 and AVR 510 receivers. This fix involves replacing capacitor C487, located in the power supply section of the front right quadrant of the main PC board. The details are noted in Service Bulletin #HK2003-02. Infinity Mobile has found an issue with a small percentag

6、e of the BassLink and BassLink X models. Units have been found to have no power. The solution is to check and repair a possible open trace in the 12V DC line. Full details and color pictures can be found in Service Bulletin #INF2003-01. This bulletin affects BassLink LC and BassLink X models. Tech T

7、ips of Note There are also a few new technical tips that may be useful to you. Have you received a complaint from a customer with an AVRX10 series, AVRX20 series or AVR 7000 that it will not retain any memory settings when power is momentarily lost to the unit? The problem can be resolved by checkin

8、g and replacing capacitor C216 for all models except the AVR 7000. Check and replace capacitor C730 for the AVR 7000. The details for this procedure are noted in Tech Tip #HKTT2003-01. One of our older CD changers, the FL8300, has been found occasionally to not stop in the correct position for a CD

9、to be picked up into the laser mechanism assembly. There are a couple of things to check. First, check, clean and reseat the six-pin ribbon cable that connects to the sensor board. Be sure that both ends are OK. The second tip is to check the post/standoff underneath the carousel. If it is too long,

10、 it must be trimmed to make sure that it does not stand proud of the surface of the carousel in that area. It should be shorter. All of this is detailed in Tech Tip #HKTT2003-02. There is a Tech Tip that addresses how to service the backup memory on JBL DCR600 and DCR600II DVD/CD players. There is a

11、 Tech Tip regarding the replacement of Q18 and Q22 in the PB10 and PB12 subwoofers. There is also a Tech Tip regarding some of the “no output” or “hum” situations with the Infinity HTS-20 subwoofer. Service Bulletin #HK2002-05 addresses a power supply issue with a few of the DVD 5 carousel players. The bulletin addresses a power supply issue with the earlier “A” version. Th

18、e power supply module for this version is no longer available, but the repair can be made on a component level. 19、 our ever-continuing effort to improve how we serve you, we are working toward an automated process that will send you an advance shipping notice e-mail with tracking info. In order for this to be effective, it is important that we have the latest contact information on record for all service center

20、s repairing Harman products. Not only will this info aid in the effectiveness of the automated reply, it will help us to more efficiently contact you for bulletins and service information.
