Components identified with the IEC symbolin the parts list are special significance to safety. When replacing a component identified with , use only the replacement parts designated, or parts wi
4、th the same ratings or resistance, wattage, or voltage that are designated in the parts list in this manual. Leakage-current or resistance measurements must be made to determine that exposed parts are acceptably insulated from the supply circuit before retuming the product to the customer. Some semi
5、conductor (solid state) devices can be damaged easily by static electricity. Such components commonly are called Electrostatically Sensitive (ES) Devices. Examples of typical ES devices are integrated circuits and some field effect transistors and semiconductor chip components. The following techniq
6、ues should be used to help reduce the incidence of component damage caused by static electricity. 1. Immediately before handling any semiconductor component or semiconductor-equipped assembly, drain off any electrostatic charge on your body by touching a known earth ground. Alternatively, obtain and
7、 wear a commercially available discharging wrist strap device, which should be removed for potential shock reasons prior to applying power to the unit under test. 2. After removing an electrical assembly equipped with ES devices, place the assembly on a conductive surface such as aluminum foil, to p
8、revent electrostatic charge build-up or exposure of the assembly. 3. Use only a grounded-tip soldering iron to solder or unsolder ES devices. 4. Use only an anti-static solder removal device. Some solder removal devices not classified as anti-static can generate electrical charges sufficient to dama
9、ge ES devices. 5. Do not use freon-propelled chemicals. These can generate electrical change sufficient to damage ES devices. 6. Do not remove a replacement ES device from its protective package until immediately before you are ready to install it. (Most replacement ES devices are packaged with lead
10、s electrically shorted together by conductive foam, aluminum foil or comparable conductive material.) 7. Immediately before removing the protective material from the leads of a replacement ES device, touch the protective material to the chassis or circuit assembly into which the device will be insta
11、lled. Be sure no power is applied to the chassis or circuit, and observe all other safety precautions. 8. Minimize bodily motions when handling unpackaged replacement ES devices. (Otherwise harmless motion such as the brushing together or your clothes fabric or the lifting of your foot from a carpet

Inspect all lead dress to make certain that leads are not pinched or that hardware is not lodged between the chassis and other metal partsintheunit. 2. Be su
13、re that any protective devices such as nonmetallic control knobs, insulating fish- papers,cabinetbacks,adjustmentand compartment covers or shields, isolation resistor-capacitynetworks,mechanical insulators, etc. Which were removed for the servicingareproperlyre-installed. Before returning the unit t
14、o the user, perform the following safety checks : 3. Be sure that no shock hazard exists ; check for leakage currentusingSimpsonModel229LeakageTester,standard equipment item No. 21641, RCA Model WT540A or use alternate method asfollows : Plug the power cord directly Into a 120 volt AC receptacle (do
15、 not use an Isolation Transformer for this test). Using two clip leads, connect a 1500ohms,10wattResistorparalleledbya0.15uFcapacitor,inserieswithallexposedmetalcabinetpartsandaknownearthground,such as a water pipe or conduit. Use a VTVM or VOM with 1000 ohms per volt, or higher sensitivity to measu
16、re the AC voltage drop across the resistor. (See diagram) Move the resistor connection to each exposed metal part having a return path to the chassis (antenna, metal, cabinet,screwheads,knobsandcontrolshafts,escutcheon,etc.)andmeasuretheACvoltagedropacrosstheresistor.(Thistestshouldbe performedwitht
17、he0.35voltRMSormoreisexcessiveandindicatesapotentialshockhazardwhichmustbecorrectedbeforereturningthe unittotheowner. 18、% THD, both channels driven into 8 ohms Seven-Channel Surround Modes Power per Individual Channel Front L units without the upgrade may exhibit the following symptoms: 1) Dolby Digital EX mode only, Delay adjustment, any speaker size selected: Adjusting the delay time at 14 feet or greater for surro
19、und back, surround or center channels, may generate a distortion (like a feedback signal) from the subwoofer output. Lowering the delay level below 14 feet eliminates the distortion. 2) The Triple Crossover feature: Settings allow a different crossover point to be used for the front left/right, cent
20、er and surround speakers. If the settings are not configured properly, the user could actually create a frequency notch and “cut out” certain bass frequencies, or, over-enhance bass frequencies by overlapping the X-Over points. (NOTE: It would be a rare occurrence where symptom #2 would generate a c
21、omplaint) AVR325 IC12, (CXP82852-375Q) order and replace with h/k part # 55646260 (CXP82860-390Q). AVR525 IC12, (CXP82852-377Q) order and replace with h/k part # 55645960 (CXP82860-391Q). WARNING: FOLLOW PROPER STATIC CONTROL PROCEDURES and use caution during the removal of the DSP board, and during
22、 installation of new IC12 to prevent damage. Sub Micro CXP82852-375Q (IC12) is on the DSP board. Remove top cover, Processor board, all Molex connectors and rear screws necessary to access DSP board. Disengage both Processor and DSP PCB from the rear PCB connector by pushing back on the rear board;
23、lift the Processor PCB up and out of the unit. Not all connectors need to be removed when enough connectors are unplugged, the Processor PCB can be lifted out of the way to access the DSP board. Disengage the DSP PCB from its rear connector by pushing back on the rear PCB; lift the DSP PCB up and ou
24、t of the unit. Locate and replace IC12; See drawing. After replacement, replace all connectors and screws. CAUTION: At the rear screws, if using a power tool, use care and minimum force to avoid damaging the various plastic receptacles. Test the unit. Model Serial Number (120v) Status Action AVR325
