INSTRUCTIONS The cartridge you are about to remove is worn out or broken but the LP12 and the Arm are still in perfect condition and I am sure that you would like th

See page 12. You can print this off, but check that your printer has

Switch off your amplifier before you unplug anything! Then disconnect the turntable from everythi
6、ng ESPECIALLY MAINS!* See Warning on Cover Page. Fit stylus guard and lift off outer platter. 2. Remove the belt and store it safely. Lift up the inner platter a few inches and place a couple of paperback books under the inner platter to protect the bearing- do not remove the inner platter as oil co
7、uld be lost and dirt could enter the bearing housing. 3. With the Turntable placed on some books.4. . . or over the edge of a table, remove all the base screws and feet. 8、sed 1.27 mm) loosen the arm plug locking grub screw at the bottom of the arm by tilting the turntable slightly. 5 6. Or if the turntable is raised on books, dont tilt the turntable but locate and loosen the grub screw. 7. Unplug the arm cable from the bottom of the arm. How to remove your Linn Tonea
9、rm from your Linn LP 12 8. Supporting the Tonearm as shown loosen the grub screw with 4 mm Allen (hex) key and remove from turntable. 10、om your Linn LP 12 8. Holding the Tonearm by the arm tube, remove the counterweight by turning and pulling gently. Place the Counterweight in a safe place. 11、m 2. Place the arm over the edge of a clean table and loosen the mounting screws with a 2.5 mm Allen (hex) key. This will avoid stressing the bearings. 3. Hold the 5 mm spanner as shown to prevent the nuts from turning and remove all the cartridge bolts. Keep the nuts and bolts safe- you may need to
12、 reuse them. 1. If your arm is an Ittok, use a rubber band to secure the arm to the lift lower platform. This will help protect the delicate bearings should you handle the arm roughly. 4. Now carefully remove the tags using a small pair of long nose pliers. Place the arm in a safe place, safest plac
13、e is back on your LP12! Proceed to next page for packing instructions. How to Pack your cartridge. 1.Take the cartridge and place in original jewellery box. If you do not have one place in small box with packing wrapped round the cartridge e.g. old film container with paper tissues. 2.Place in a pad

16、f was fairly painless. The new one is perfect and worth a lot of money. Please keep the stylus guard on at all times and only remove when aligning on the record. 17、elp you. 2. Note the colours of the wires as shown above if tags are already fitted. 1. Unpack the cartridge and remove from box. Fit the tags to the cartridge if required as shown above. 4. .carefully fit the tags to the arm. How to fit your Linn Cartridge to your Linn Tonearm 5. Line up the cartri
18、dge with the cursor line on the headshell. (This is on the Ekos only and helps with the setup but the following alignment gauge will also suffice). Fit the screws and nuts finger tight as alignment still has to be confirmed. Retain the cartridge box in a safe place for future use. 3. Using the colou
19、r codes as shown: 1. left hot (+) = white2. right hot (+) = red 3. left earth (-) = blue4. right earth (-) = green Page 9 How to fit and align your Linn Tonearm and Cartridge 1. Once the cartridge is fitted to the arm, refit the counter weight to the arm by pushing it on to the tail piece bevelled e
20、dge first whilst turning the counterweight. TIP: Use a sliver of soap to moisten the tail of the arm tube to make this easier. 2. Refit the Tonearm to the turntable and tighten at the approximate height. Turn tracking and Bias dial to 0. See point 4 below. WARNING: Turn tracking dial slowly and do n
21、ot go past 0. 4. Clip the arm in the arm rest and add tracking weight by dialling 1.7 on the tracking force dial (A). Dial B is the Bias or ” anti-skate” Dial. 3. Remove the stylus guard and un-clip the arm from the rest, then move the counter weight back and forth in small steps until arm floats ho
22、rizontally, i.e. is balanced or “calibrated”. TAKE CARE AS THE STYLUS GUARD IS OFF!. (A) (B) 7. Rotate the platter by hand as required to enable placement of stylus on cross-hair (A) so lines are parallel to the cartridge body. Lift the stylus off the protractor while moving the platter. Adjust the
23、Cartridge if necessary forward or back on the headshell ensuring Cartridge remains parallel in the headshell. The outside edge of the headshell (nearest finger lift) will also be parallel so you can use this to line up with protractor. Confirm alignment at point B. 8. Once you are satisfied that the
24、 cartridge is aligned remove the arm from your turntable and tighten cartridge screws in position until Allen (hex) key starts to bend. Use spanner to hold the nuts in place and stop them turning . Refit arm and make final check of alignment (see point 5). When finished place arm in arm clip. 5. Pla
25、ce Arm on record and adjust height until horizontal. If arm is too high or too low, place arm back in clip and adjust the arm height. Repeat this procedure until arm is horizontal. Tip: Use reflection on record and adjust until arm-tube is parallel with its reflection. How to fit and align your Linn
26、 Tonearm and Cartridge 6. Place alignment protractor on the record. Page 11 11. Check that the cable does not touch ANYTHING and is clear of the base. 12. Remove outer platter. Refit the turntable base and reinstall the turntable in its playing location. Connect the audio and power leads. Refit the
27、belt and outer platter. Happy listening! How to fit and align your Linn Tonearm and Cartridge 9.Tighten the arm in place- use the 4mm Allen (hex) key as shown to avoid overtigtning.- WARNING: Overtightning this height locking screw will damage the arm bearings. 10. Refit the arm plug as shown. Tight
28、en securing grub screw but do not over-tighten. ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? Alignment Protractor: 1. Print off. 2. Check that the scale has been retained with by measuring with a ruler. 3. Past on to thin card. 4. Cut around the border 5. Carefully cut out the spindle hole with a craft knife or scalpel. Please wear safety goggles! 6. Your alignment protractor is ready for use.
