In measuring oltages use a voltmeter having a resistance oi at least 1000 ohms per volt. Allowances sho

2、uld be made for variations In Una voltage. ALIGNMENT PROCEDURE GENERAL DATA. The alignment oi this receiver requires the use of a test oscillator that will cover the frequencies of 456, 600, 1400 and 1720 KC and an output meter to be connected across dm primary and secondary oi the output transforme

3、r. If possible, all alignments should be made with the volume control on maximum and the test oscillator output as low as possible to prevent dm AVC from operating and giving false readings. CORRECT ALIGNMENT PROCEDURE. The intermediate frequency WJ stages should be aligned properly as the first ste

4、p. After die LF. transformers have been properly adjusted and peaked, the broadcast band should be adjusted. I. P. ALIGNMENT. Remove die chassis cmd loop antenna from die cabinet and set them up on the bench so that they occupy exactly the same respective positions on the bench as they did in the aa

5、binet Care should be taken to hgve no Iron or other metal near the loop. Do not make this set-up an a metal bench. With dm gang condenser set at minimum, adjust the test oscillator to 456 KC and connect dm output to the grid of dm first detector tube (12SA7) through a .05 or .1 mid. condenser. The g

6、round on the teet oscillator should be connected to the ground buss. Indicated on the circuit diagram. Align all three LF. trimmers to peak or maximum reading on the output meter. BROADCAST RAND ALIGNMENT. Connect the test oscillator to the antenna oi the set through a 100 mmid. (.0001) condenser. W

7、ith the gang condenser set at minimum capacity, set the test wjiiiWv at 1720 KC, and adjust the oscillator (or 1720 KC trimmer) on gang condenser. Nextset the test oscillator at 1400 KC, and tune in the signed on the gang condenser. Adjust the antenna trimmer (or 1400 KC trimmer) far maximum signed. Next set the test oscil lator at 600 KC, and tune In signal on condenser to align ment of colls. COMPILED BY M. N.
