AMPEX franchised dealers can offer the most convenient service in providing norm- ally replaceable parts when proper informati

15、on is furnished. Parts are listed according to the schematic reference symbol, a description of the part and the AMPEX number. On occasion. AMPEX offers certain replace- ment parts that are not necessarily exact rep- licas of those used on the original version of the equipment; but these parts are d

16、irectly interchangeable with the original parts or data is provided to enable the use of the new part The description column names the part, its composition, electrical value and manufactur- 6-1 ers number ( or military specification when available )-and the AMPEX PART NUMBER. Ampex part numbers are

17、 the exact desig- nation for all parts used in Ampex equipment. For example: CAPACITOR, fixed; ceramic, 0.02,f +80% -20%, 500 vdcw; Sprague Part No. 36C205 will always bear the Ampex Cata- log Number 54-0265. THIS IS THE NUMBER 6-2 THAT SHOULD BE USED WHEN ORDER- ING REPLACEMENT PARTS. The schematic

18、 reference number should NOT be used for ordering parts as the part value may vary with different equipment types.
