7、(1) Bezel (1) Bezel gasket Descript ion The ADP1 is a convenient r emot e, weat her pr oof, hands- fr ee t wo- way t er minal device for t elephone syst ems. The unit is t elephone line power ed and includes adjust able micr ophone and speaker volume levels as well as a select able Aut o Answer feat

8、 ur e t o allow for r emot e moni- t or ing. The ADP1 also includes an adjust able and defeat able call t imer and can r espond t o for war d disconnect signals. The ADP1 feat ur es a heavy- gauge st ainless st eel gasket ed faceplat e, plast ic cone speaker , and faceplat e t o elect r ical box (us

9、er supplied) gasket ing t o pr ot ect against vandals and var ying weat her condit ions. A dr ess bezel is included wit h t he unit for t r imming out r ough openings in flush mount applicat ions. 10、de via an RJ11 connect or t hat is pr e- wir ed t o a 2- posit ion pluggable t er minal block. The connect ions t o t he t er minal block ar e not polar it y sensit ive. (See Wi r i ng, pg. 5. ) 2. Speaker Vol ume POT - The Speaker Volume POT cont r ols t he speaker volume level of t he unit . Clock

11、wise r ot at ion (looking at POT) incr eases t he volume. 3. Microphone Level POT -The Micr ophone Level POT adjust s t he micr ophone r et ur n t alk level of t he unit . I n cer t ain noisy locat ions (e. g. , backgr ound t r affic, machiner y, or wind) t he micr ophone t hr eshold level may need

12、t o be decr eased, ot her wise t he unit might det ect t he backgr ound noise as valid audio t her eby caus- ing t he unit t o r emain in t he t alk mode. Clockwise r ot at ion (looking at POT) incr eases t he r et ur n t alk level. 4. Noise Reduct ion - Slowly mut es t he level t o t he phone when

13、only backgr ound noise, not act ive audio, is det ect ed. 5. Act ive LED - For use when inst alling and t r oubleshoot ing, t he LED indicat es t hat t he unit is act ive (off hook) when lit . 6. Timer / Timer Durat ion POT - The ADP1 can be configur ed t o aut omat ically disconnect a call aft er a

14、 pr eset amount of t ime has elapsed. The t imer can be set bet ween 15 seconds and 2 minut es. The t imer is act ivat ed by pr essing t he but t on on t he unit or when t he unit answer s (Aut o Answer ) an incoming call. Wit h t he t imer disabled, t he call t ime will be unlimit ed and t he ADP1

15、will not disconnect t he call unt il a 300 ms or longer loss of loop cur r ent is det ect ed. I f t he t elephone line/ phone syst em ext en- sion does not supply a loop cur r ent br eak when t he calling par t y hangs up, t hen t he call t imer feat ur e must be used (enabled) . Connect t he ADP1 t o t he phone syst ems analog st at ion line pr ogr ammed for r ing down oper at ion using t he RJ11 or dir ect ly t o t he scr ew t er minals depending on how t he lines ar e t er minat ed. The connect ions t

18、o t he t er minal block ar e not polar it y sensit ive. Surge Protection To incr ease sur ge pr ot ect ion, connect a pr ot ect ive Ear t h Gr ound t o t he spar e lug pr ovided. A r ing lug is pr ovided t o which t he pr ot ect ive gr ound lead is cr imped. Reassemble t he lug t o post as shown. 6

19、I nst al l at ion The ADP1 is designed t o fit in most st andar d dual gang elect r ical boxes. Make sur e t o use t he pr oper box t ype for int ended inst allat ion (e. g. , flush or sur face mount , indoor or out door locat ion, et c. ) . Fl ush Mount ing t he ADP1 (I ndoor/ Out door) 1. Make elect r ical connect ions and at t ach t he faceplat e t o t he elect r ical box while capt ur ing t he bezel bet ween t he t wo using t he four hex dr ive scr ews (t ool pr ovided) .
