MOUNTING THE SPEAKER ON T

8、HE YOKE The A12 yoke allows t he speaker t o be slipped ont o it wit h t he locking knobs at t ached. Fir st , bot h knobs need t o be r emoved and t he supplied r ubber fr ict ion disks applied t o t he speaker enclosur e wher e t he knobs clamp. Do not apply t he fr ict ion disks dir ect ly t o t

9、he mount ing knobs. Next , scr ew t he knobs back ont o t he enclosur e about t wo t ur ns and simply slide t he knob shaft s down t he slot s in t he yoke. Now t ight en t he knobs making sur e t hat t he shoulder of t he knob seat s pr oper ly t hr ough t he lar ge hole at t he end of t he yoke. S

10、OME FACTORS TO CONSIDER Dist ance is not t he only fact or affect ing sound int ensit y. Also consider what adjacent sur faces may affect t he sound (including but not limit ed t o buildings, walls, and over hangs). OVERPOWERING Sur pr isingly, speaker damage ca

13、n be caused by amplifier s wit h t oo lit t le power . An under power ed, over dr iven amp sends heavily dist or t ed, clipped audio t o t he speaker s. This can damage t he high- fr equency dr iver s. Clipping is usually audible; it may var y fr om a har sh sound t o a fuzzy or blur r y sound. I f

14、you hear clipping at loud volume levels, t ur n down t he volume unt il t he dist or t ion is no longer pr esent . On t he ot her hand, over power ing a speaker can cause mechanical damage or elec- t r ical failur e by over st r essing t he speaker s component s. The speaker must be power ed appr op

18、he 70V amplifier . The example below shows five speaker s connect ed in par allel. Using t he 16W t er minals, an amplifier is needed wit h a power r at ing of at least (5) (16) = 80W. A good r ule of t humb is t o select an amplifier wit h 20% mor e power ; in t his case, an amplifier t hat deliver

19、 s about 100W. When using mult iple low- impedance speaker s wir ed in par allel, it is impor t ant t o know t he t ot al load t hat t hese speaker s pr esent t o t he amplifier and t o select an amplifier t hat is st able int o t hat load. The A12 has a 16- ohm input impedance which allows for easy

20、 par alleling of mult iple speaker s. I n t he example on t he next page, four speaker s ar e par alleled on each amplifier out put , so t hat each r un has a t ot al impedance of 4 ohms. Not e: I f all speaker s ar e t he same Rs , it is simply: Low- impedance amplifier s have power r at ings based on dr iving a par t icular load impedance, t ypically a 4- ohm lo

I f t he speaker load s impedance is gr eat er t han t he amplifier s r at ed impedance, t he speaker will not consume t he amplifier s t ot al r at ed power . Since t he A12 is a 16- ohm speaker , oper at ing a single A12 wit h an amplifier r at ed for 4

24、ohms will r esult in t he A12 speaker consuming only 1/ 4 of t he amplifier s maximum capacit y. Likewise a single A12 will consume only 1/ 2 of t he power capacit y of an amplifier s 8- ohm power r at ing. 26、 to be free from defects in material and workmanship for five (5) years from the date of sale to the original purchaser. Any part of the product covered by this warranty that, with normal installation and use, becomes defective (as confirmed by Bogen upon inspection) during the applicable warranty p

27、eriod, will be repaired or replaced by Bogen, at Bogens option, provided the product is shipped insured and prepaid to: Bogen Factory Service Department, 4570 Shelby Air Drive, Suite 11, Memphis TN 38118, USA. Repaired or replacement product will be returned to you freight prepaid. This warranty doe

28、s not extend to any of our products that have been subjected to abuse, misuse, improper storage, neglect, accident, improper installation or have been modified or repaired or altered in any manner whatsoever, or where the serial number or date code has been removed or defaced. THE FOREGOING LIMITED

29、WARRANTY IS BOGEN S SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE WARRANTY AND THE PURCHASER S SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY.
