An imp or tant p e r for mance p ar ame te r to ke e p in mind is that the location of the s ub- woofe r will affe ct its outp ut s ound p r e s s ur e le ve l (S P L) within a r oom. Locating the CS UB

19、 clos e to a wall will incr e as e its outp ut by ap p r oximate ly 3 dB r athe r than locating it towar d the ce nte r of the ce iling ar e a. The 3 dB incr e as e will e ffe ctive ly double the amount of outp ut p owe r coming fr om the s ubwoofe r . Locating the CS UB in the cor ne r of a r oom,

20、adjace nt to 2 p e r p e ndicular wall s ur face s , will incr e as e its outp ut by 6 dB. This 6 dB incr e as e e ffe ctive ly q uadr up le s the outp ut of the s ubwoofe r comp ar e d to locating it clos e r towar d the ce nte r of the r oom.
