18、 ed I nst al l at ion The ampl ifier may be mounted in a standard 19” equipment rack, by using the Bogen Model RPK53 Rack Panel Kit ( accessory; sol d separatel y) , which incl udes two brackets and the necessary hardware for instal l ation. NOTE: Befor e installing the amplifier in a r ack, install

19、 any accessor y tr ansfor mer s r equir ed. See Input Connections section. Attach one of the RPK53 brackets to each side of the unit and se- cure ( with screws provided) through the hol es on the side panel . Each bracket measures 2”W x 3- 1/ 2”H x 1”D. Vent il at ion The ampl ifier generates heat d

20、uring operation. I t must be prop- erl y ventil ated to prevent excessive temperature rise. I f other heat- producing equipment, or several ampl ifiers have been instal l ed in an encl osed rack or cabinet, you must ensure that there is space above and bel ow the ampl ifier( s) to al l ow for passiv

21、e cool ing. I t is recommended that the ampl ifier be instal l ed on the bottom of a rack or above any equipment that does not produce heat. Power and Grounding The three- wire AC l ine cord has a three- prong pl ug which shoul d be pl ugged into a properl y grounded, three- wire, 120V 60Hz outl et.

22、 I t is important to ground the ampl ifier. Auxil iary Power Recept acl e Caution:The fr ont panel POWER switch does not contr ol the aux- iliar y r eceptacle. The AUX POWER receptacl e on the rear panel is a three- wire grounded outl et that may be used to suppl y power to accessory equipment in th

23、e sound system. Ensure that the accessory equip- ment does not require more than 300 watts. Equipment connected to the auxil iary receptacl e wil l be grounded, provided the ampl ifier l ine cord has been properl y grounded. The outl et is protected by an internal fuse. I nput Connect ions High- I m

24、pedance I nput A high- impedance input is provided by standard RCA jacks (see Fig. 1) . An input signal of 300mV is required for ful l rated output. Low- I mpedance Bal anced I nput Caution: To avoid electr ic shock, be sur e to disconnect AC Power Cor d befor e r emoving the cover of the amplifier

25、unit. Warning: DO NOT per for m any function r equir ing the r emoval of the cover of the amplifier unless you ar e qualified to do so. A bal anced input, provided at the BAL LO- Z terminal strip ( Fig. 1) , requires the instal l ation of a Bogen Model TL600 l ine- matching transformer. Remove the t

26、op cover of the unit and instal l the trans- former in the socket designated XT1 ( see Fig. 2 on back page) on the printed circuit board. I f an unbal anced input is required, connect a jumper from the GND terminal to an adjacent input terminal . Bridging I nput Caution: To avoid electr ic shock, be

27、 sur e to disconnect AC Power Cor d befor e r emoving the cover of the amplifier unit. Warning: DO NOT per for m any function r equir ing the r emoval of the cover of the amplifier unless you ar e qualified to do so. The inputs of two or more ampl ifiers may be paral l el ed by instal l ing accessor

28、y transformer TL100 ( for up to 6 ampl ifiers) in the trans- former socket designated XT1 ( see Fig. 2) on the printed circuit board. Connect the signal source to the BAL LO- Z terminal strip and connect the cabl e shiel d to the GND terminal . For an unbal - anced input, connect a jumper wire from

29、the GND terminal to an adjacent input terminal . I nput from Anot her Ampl ifier The BPA60 may be driven from an ampl ifier that provides a 25V or 70V constant vol tage output. Connect the output of the driver ampl ifier to one of the HI - Z input jacks via a resistor network ( see Fig. 3) . These r

30、esistors are in addition to the normal l oudspeaker l oad impedance on the output of the driver ampl ifier. Out put Connect ions Caution: Follow local electr ical codes when connecting ampli- fier output. Figure 1shows the l ocation and impedance val ues for the output terminal strip. Cl ass 2 wirin

31、g is acceptabl e for output l oads. Speakers The BPA60 features output connectors for 16- ohm,8- ohm/ 25V, 25VCT and 70V speakers. The ampl ifier provides outputs for 25V and 70V speakers. 70- vol t speaker connections are made between the 70V and COM terminal s on the output terminal strip. The COM

32、 and GND terminal s of the output terminal strip are connected using a shorting cl ip. The shorting cl ip enabl es the ampl ifier output to act as an unbal anced output ( one side of the output connected to ground) . I f desired, the output can be made to be a bal anced output with no connection to

33、ground. To bal - ance the output, simpl y remove the shorting cl ip. Al l speaker con- nections remain the same as above. 25V speaker connections are done in the same manner. Hum I f the connections between the signal sources and ampl ifier are in- correct or defective, hum- type interference may oc

34、cur. Check for proper grounding, broken wires or shiel ds, poor connector contacts, etc. Keep input cabl es away from speaker cabl es and speaker cabl es away from AC power l ines. Where auxil iary equipment is used, it may be necessary to connect a separate ground wire from the chassis of such equi

Any part of the product covered by this warranty that, with normal instal l ation and use, becomes defective ( as confirmed by Bogen upon inspection) during the appl icabl e warranty period, wil l be repaired or repl aced by Bogen, at Bogens option, provi

Repaired or repl acement product wil l be returned to you freight prepaid. This warranty does not extend to any of our prod- ucts that have been subjected to abuse, misuse, i

38、mproper storage, negl ect, accident, improper instal l ation or have been modified or repaired or al tered in any manner whatsoever, or where the serial number or date code has been removed or defaced. For most efficient warranty or repair service, pl ease incl ude a description of the fail ure. 12/ 2008 Limit ed Warrant y; Excl usion of Cert ain Damages Operat ion Power:The Power Switch appl ies power to the ampl ifier; it does not control any associated equipment which may be connecte

45、d to the auxil iary power receptacl e on the rear panel . The switch l amp wil l il l uminate when power has been appl ied to the unit. Lo- Cut Fil t er Swit ch:The LO- CUT fil ter switch, l ocated on the rear panel , provides 10 dB attenuation at 100 Hz. I nput Level Cont rol :The I nput Level cont

46、rol ( screwdriver- ad- justabl e) , l ocated on the rear panel , is used to adjust the input sig- nal appl ied to the ampl ifier. Turn the control cl ockwise to increase the l evel . Caution: Many loudspeaker s may be damaged if over dr iven. Ther efor e, always begin system setup with the Input Lev

47、el contr ol fully counter clockwise and gr adually incr ease the setting to obtain the desir ed output level. Thermal Cut - Out The ampl ifier is protected by a thermal cut- out which shoul d not trip under normal conditions. I f it trips, check for inadequate ven- til ation of the unit or overl oad

48、ing. The cut- out wil l automatical l y reset after cool ing. Circuit Breaker:I f the AC circuit breaker opens, the power switch l amp wil l go out and the ampl ifier wil l have no output; however, there wil l be power at the AUX POWER receptacl e on the rear panel . Set the POWER switch to OFF and

49、momentaril y depress the red but- ton on the circuit breaker to reset it. Return the POWER switch to ON. I f the circuit breaker trips again, do not attempt to reset it; have the troubl e investigated by a qual ified technician.
