Unl i ke other typi cal ampl i fi er l i nes, the professi onal sound contractor need not purchase a hi gher- powered ampl i fi er just to get more extensi ve features or fl exi bi l i ty. Each of the Gol d Seal Seri es ampl i

A sl i de swi tch l ocated above each XLR connector i s used to suppl y phantom power for condenser mi crophones. MI C 5/ TEL

13、 (Rear Panel; #8 and #9) The MIC 5/ TEL i nput i s desi gned to accept i nput from a mi cro- phone or from a tel ephone l i ne. A sl i de swi tch i s provi ded to sel ect MIC 5 or TEL i nput. To connect a mi crophone, pl ace the MIC 5/ TEL swi tch i n the MIC posi ti on. Use two conductor shi el ded

14、 cabl e and connect the cabl e shi el d to the center GND termi nal . To use the TEL i nput, pl ace the MIC 5/ TEL swi tch i n the TEL posi ti on and connect the 600- ohm tel ephone pagi ng source ( dry si gnal onl y - no DC vol tage) to the MIC 5/ TEL screw termi nal s. MI C 6/ AUX 1 (Rear Panel; #6, #7, #20) The MIC 6/ AUX 1 i nput i s desi gned to accept i nput from a mi crophone usi ng termi nal stri p connecti ons or from a hi gh l evel auxi l i ary source such as a tuner or CD pl ayer usi ng the AUX 1 RCAjack. A sl i de swi tch i s used to sel ect

16、 i nput type. Connect a mi crophone to the screw termi nal s l abel ed MIC 6 ( works onl y when AUX 1/ MIC 6 swi tch i s i n the MIC 6 posi - ti on) . Pr ecedence Connections (Rear Panel; #1 1) Precedence connecti ons al l ow any combi nati on of i nputs to be compl etel y muted wi th a contact cl osure. Cl osi ng a contact across any of the precedence termi nal s and the PREC COM 1 termi nal wi l

21、l mute that i nput. A customer- suppl i ed normal l y- open SPST swi tch, push- to- tal k swi tch, mi crophone swi tch, rel ay or tel ephone system contact can be used to provi de the cl osure. Note: Acti vati ng the precedence control for AUX i nputs compl etel y mutes the i nput si gnal . The VARM

22、UTEcontrol has no effect when muti ng i nputs usi ng precedence control . 24、n COM and GND. For speci al appl i - cati ons that requi re fl oati ng outputs ( bal anced systems) , remove the shorti ng cl i p between COM and GND. Note:If GND/ COM shorti ng cl i p i s removed, the WMT1A and “TO PWR AMP” outputs wi l l not operate. To use the DIRECTOUT ( 4- ohm) output, remove t

25、he shorti ng cl i p across the LINK termi nal s and connect l ow i mpedance speaker l oad between the 4 termi nal and the GND termi nal . The GND/ COM shorti ng cl i p shoul d remai n i n pl ace. WMT1A (Rear Panel; #2) Thi s RCA output jack, when used wi th a Bogen WMT1A Li ne- Matchi ng Transformer

26、 accessory provi des a 600- ohm output to feed a remote ampl i fi er or a tel ephone l i ne. Refer to the i nstructi ons pro- vi ded wi th the WMT1A accessory for connecti on i nformati on. Note:Shorti ng cl i p between GND/ COM on the speaker output termi nal s stri p must be i nstal l ed to use th

To Power Amp (Rear Panel; #3) The Gol d Seal Seri es ampl i fi er may be used to dri ve an external power ampl i fi er ( can onl y be used wi th unbal anced hi gh- i mpedance i nputs) . Note: Shorti ng cl i p between GND/ COM on the speaker output termi nal stri p must be i nstal l ed t

Pr e- Out/ Power I n Jacks (Rear Panel; #12, #13, #14) These jacks permi t the i nserti on of si gnal processi ng equi pment i nto the si gnal path between the preamp output and the power amp i nput. The LINK swi tch shoul d be i n the IN posi ti on for normal operati on. When u

29、si ng external si gnal processi ng equi pment, pl ace the swi tch i n the OUT posi ti on and connect PRE OUT to the si gnal processi ng equi pments i nput. Connect the POWERIN to the si gnal processi ng equi pments output. Note:Ensure that the LINK swi tch i s i n the IN posi ti on when NOT usi ng e

30、xternal si gnal processi ng equi pment, otherwi se there wi l l be no output from the ampl i fi er. Tape Out (Rear Panel; #15) The TAPE OUT jack provi des a l i ne- l evel output to feed a recordi ng devi ce. The output i s not effected by the Master vol ume control or EQ, however, the output i s af

Master Volume Contr ol (Fr ont Panel; #8) The overal l vol ume i s control l ed by the MASTER vol ume control . Lo- Cut Filter (Rear Panel; #5) The Lo- Cut

33、 fi l ter on the rear panel provi des 3 dB attenuati on 65Hz on the mi crophone i nputs. Thi s hel ps reduce mi c breath pop, wi nd noi se, and rumbl e. Contour Switch (Fr ont Panel; #5) Thi s swi tch enabl es or bypasses the vari abl e l oudness contour. Thi s feature onl y effects the AUX i nputs.

34、 Thi s feature i s desi gned to i mprove ri chness of sound by restori ng the hi gh and l ow frequenci es that the ear i s i nsensi - ti ve to at l ow vol ume l evel s. The effect di mi ni shes as vol ume i s i ncreased. Audio Enhancement (Fr ont Panel; #9 / Rear Panel; #16) The front panel Audi o E

35、nhancement swi tch enabl es or bypasses the Audi o Enhancement feature. Thi s feature effects al l i nputs when enabl ed. By regenerati ng the upper harmoni cs, thi s audi o enhancement system recreates the presence and real i sm that i s l ost i n the audi o ampl i fi cati on process. Thi s resul t

36、s i n i ncreased presence and cl ari ty, i ncreased i ntel l i gi bi l i ty, greater percei ved l oudness ( wi thout usi ng extra power) , and reduced l i stener fati gue. The rear panel AE adjustment control s the mi x of the Audi o Enhancement effect wi th the audi o si gnal . Countercl ockwi se r

37、otati on of the control mi ni mi zes the Audi o Enhancement effect. Cl ockwi se rotati on of the control maxi mi zes the Audi o Enhancement effect. 12 Oper ation Dual- Function Acoustic Equalizer (Fr ont Panel; #6) The uni que dual - functi on equal i zer can be used for acousti c shapi ng or for fe

38、edback control . Note:When the swi tch i s pl aced i n the OUT posi ti on, the equal i zer i s bypassed for a fl at response. Acoustic Shaping Mode When the swi tch i s set i n the ACOUSTIC EQ posi ti on, ful l range equal i zati on ( 10 bands on 1 octave centers starti ng at 62. 5 Hz) i s provi ded

39、 wi th a boost/ cut of 12 dB. In thi s mode, the equal i zer can be used to compensate for room acousti cs, or to sati sfy the l i steni ng preference of the user. Feedback Contr ol Mode When the swi tch i s pl aced i n the FEEDBACK CONTROL posi ti on, the equal i zer can be used to reduce feedback

40、and i ncrease the effecti ve gai n of the system. In feedback control mode, the equal i zer provi des i ncreased control of frequenci es between 125 Hz and 8 kHz. The 10 bands are l ocated on 2/ 3 octave centers wi th 12 dB cut/ boost on each band. 13 Oper ation 14 Oper ation Telephone Paging Contr

41、ols #17) The TEL i nput features an automati c l evel control ( ALC) whi ch compensates for di fferent voi ce l evel s and speaki ng styl es of the i ndi vi dual s usi ng the system. The MIC 5/ TEL and MASTER control s can be used to vary the overal l vol ume wi thout upsetti ng the ALC adjustment. VOX (Re

44、ar Panel; #18) The tel ephone page i nput features voi ce- acti vated AUX muti ng. Thi s feature al ways mutes AUX 2 and onl y mutes AUX 1 when the AUX1/ MIC 6 swi tch i s set i n that posi ti on. The VOX control shoul d be set so that onl y the desi red si gnal i s above the threshol d l evel , whi

45、 l e unwanted noi se i s bel ow i t. To adjust the sensitivity of the VOX cir cuit: 1. Rotate the VOX control ful l y cl ockwi se. Whi l e maki ng a publ i c address announcement and tal ki ng at a l ow l evel , the sound shoul d not be choppy or mi ssi ng parts of words. If i t i s choppy or i ntel

46、 l i gi bi l i ty i s poor, rotate control countercl ockwi se to the poi nt where the sound i s cl ear and cri sp ( but not to the maxi mum countercl ockwi se posi ti on) . 2. If the background musi c shuts down when no page i s i n progress, rotate the control cl ock- wi se unti l the musi c wi l l

47、 not shut down when no page i s i n progress. Var iable Mute (Rear Panel; #4) The VAR MUTE control mutes the AUX i nput( s) onl y duri ng tel ephone pages. The control al l ows the user to sel ect from 4 l evel s of muti ng: 1 = - 60 dB, 2 = - 21 dB, 3 = - 10 dB, 4 = 0 dB. Tr oubleshooting Amplifier

48、 will not tur n ON.On the GS35, GS60, GS100 and GS150, depress the ci rcui t breaker reset button. On the GS250, check the fuse. Repl ace fuse onl y wi th same type and rati ng.
