6、00 Hz octave The Bose 201 Series ? is a replacement for the 201 Series ? speaker, and is a passive, two-piece (mirror imaged stereo pair) home loudspeaker in a bookshelf configuration. The 201 Series ? is designed for use with standard amplifiers, receivers, and other related home audio components,

7、either in stereo applications, or to complete a home theater system. The 201 Series ? utilizes an inward firing tweeter to achieve consistent stereo imaging over a broad listening area (Stereo Everywhere performance). Aesthetically, the 201 Series ? echoes styling cues used in the 601 Series ? and t

8、he 701 Series ?, and has a family resemblance to the 301 Series ?. The 201 Series ? features a molded plastic front panel, integrated with a vinyl-covered particle board enclosure. Additionally, the system incorporates slot-port technology which reduces port noise and pro- duces cleaner, more natura

9、l bass. The sum of all these unique features makes the 201 Series ? speaker capable of reproducing the wide dynamic range demanded by todays advanced recordings without strain or loss of clarity. RadioFans.CN 收音机爱 好者资料库 3 DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY PROCEDURES Note: Refer to figure 2 for the following proc

10、edures. 1. Grille Removal 1.1 Grasp the top and bottom edges of the grille (5) and pull off the grille. 2. Grille Replacement 2.1 Align the grille (5) so that the Bose logo (6) is right side up on the tweeter side of the cabinet and push it into place. 3. Woofer Removal 3.1 Perform procedure 1. 3.2

11、Remove the four screws (7) that secure the woofer (8) to the cabinet. 3.3 Lift the woofer out of the cabinet and cut the wires as close to the terminals as possible. 4. Woofer Replacement 4.1 Strip the wires and connect the red wire to the positive (+) terminal and the black wire to the negative (-)

12、 terminal. Dress or twist the wires to prevent buzzes. Replace the gasket if needed. 4.2 Secure the woofer (8) to the cabinet using four screws (7). 4.3 Perform procedure 2. 5. Tweeter Removal 5.1 Perform procedures 1, 3.2 and lift the woofer out of the cabinet, but do not cut the wires. 5.2 Using a

13、 1/4 inch socket, remove the screw (3) and bracket (4) that secures the tweeter (10) to the cabinet. 5.3 Lift the tweeter out of the cabinet and cut the wires as close to the terminals as possible. 6. Tweeter Replacement 6.1 Strip the wires and connect the red wire to the positive (+) terminal and t

14、he black wire to the negative (-) terminal. Dress or twist the wires to prevent buzzes. 6.2 Place the tweeter (10) into the cabinet and secure it using the tweeter bracket (4) and screw (3). 6.3 Perform procedures 4.2 and 2. 7. Terminal Cup Removal 7.1 Remove the four screws (1) that secure the term

15、inal cup (2) to the cabinet. 7.2 Lift the terminal cup out of the cabinet and cut the wires as close to the terminals as possible. 8.1 Terminal Cup Replacement 8.1 Strip the wires and connect the red wire to the positive (+) terminal and the black wire to the negative (-) terminal. Dress or twist th

16、e wires to prevent buzzes. 8.2 Secure the terminal cup (2) to the cabinet using four screws (1). RadioFans.CN 收音机爱 好者资料库 4 TEST PROCEDURES Note: Remove the grille for the following tests. General Test Set Up Connect the output of a signal generator to the input of a power amplifier. Connect the outp

17、ut of the power amplifier to the input terminals of the speaker under test. Refer to figure 1, test equipment set up diagram. 1. Woofer Rub and Tick Test 1.1 Apply a 7 Vrms, 10 Hz signal to the input terminals of the speaker under test. No extraneous noises such as rubbing, scraping or ticking shoul

18、d be heard. Note: To distinguish between normal sus- pension noise and rubs or ticks, displace the cone on the woofer slightly with your fingers. If the noise can be made to go away or get worse, it is a rub or a tick and the woofer should be replaced. If the noise stays the same, it is a normal sus

19、pension noise and the woofer is fine. Suspension noises will not be heard with program material. 2. Air Leak Test 2.1 Apply a 7 Vrms, 65 Hz signal to the input terminals of the speaker under test. 2.2 Listen for air leaks around the woofer, tweeters and cabinet seams. Air leaks will be heard as a sp

20、uttering or hissing sound. 2.3 Replace or reposition any gasket where an air leak can be heard. 3. Sweep Test 3.1 Apply a 7 Vrms, 10 Hz signal to the input terminals of the speaker under test. 3.2 Sweep the input generator from 10 Hz to 5 kHz. There should be no extraneous sounds. 3.3 Reduce the inp

21、ut voltage to 3 Vrms, and continue sweeping from 5 kHz to 15 kHz. 3.4 Redress any wires or components that buzz or rattle. Replace any woofer or tweeter that is found to be defective. 4. Phase Test Note: The supply voltage should only be momentarily applied to the speaker input terminals to avoid po

22、ssible damage to the speaker. 4.1 Set a DC power supply to 9 volts. Connect the positive wire from the power supply to the positive (+) connector of the input terminal and the negative wire to the negative (-) connector of the input terminal.
