The heart o f the P ro Matrix is an an alo g sign al p ro cesso r an d micro p ro cesso r which co n tro l audio level, eq ualiza- tio n , co mp ressio n , in p ut ro utin g, an d p o wer amp lificatio n . Thro ugh easy-to -un ders

11、tan d setup men us, the P ro Matrix can be in structed to han dle audio sign als in ways that wo uld n o rmally req uire ban ks o f eq uip men t an d co mp li- cated wirin g schemes. It even in cludes a detachable fro n t p an el fo r the ultimate in stallatio n flexibility. Even tho ugh the P ro Ma

12、trix so lves co mp licated audio in stallatio n p ro blems, it is n o t co mp licated to use. It was created with the un derstan din g that n o n -techn ical p eo p le will be the o n es usin g the system lo n g after the in stallatio n is co mp lete. O p eratio n is simp le an d in tuitive because

Ho wever, the best p art o f havin g a P ro Matrix P M3180 amp lifier to man age a facilitys audio is that yo u do n t have to o p erate it at all. The P ro Matrix can be set to auto matically switch in p ut so urces an d ap p ly p reset levels f

14、o r vo lume, bass, an d treble as each p rio ritized in p ut beco mes active. The P ro Matrix uses a co mmo n set o f in p uts, but each chan n el has in dep en den t co n tro l o ver in p ut p rio rities, vo lume, an d EQ levels. Fo r examp le, this en sures that when so meo n e in a facilitys bar

15、area p uts a do llar in a jukebo x, the music co mes o n lo ud an d heavy while the backgro un d music in the din in g ro o m stays calm an d q uiet. 22、ll fade back to its o rigin al level. S ettin g the level to which the AUX in p ut is sup p ressed is acco mp lished by usin g the AUX M UTE men u fun ctio n . To set this feature yo u must select the amp lifier an d in p ut so urce co mbin atio n to be adjusted. Also , fo r AUX mute level settin g,

23、 yo u must select a micro p ho n e in p ut. The P M3180 has the ability to mute an in p ut so urce differen tly dep en din g o n which micro p ho n e in p ut is bein g used. This ability is desirable in situatio n s when o n e micro p ho n e is to be used fo r emergen cy an n o un cemen ts an d an o

24、 ther is fo r gen eral p agin g. The P M3180 can be set to co mp lete- ly mute backgro un d music durin g emergen cy an n o un ce- men ts, but o n ly p artial mutin g o n n o rmal p ages. O n ce the amp lifier/in p ut/MIC co mbin atio n has been selected, its o n ly a matter o f usin g the vo lume c

25、o n tro l butto n s to adjust the AUX in p ut mute level. The micro - p ho n e is live while makin g this adjustmen t so the vo lume differen ce between the AUX in p ut an d micro p ho n e level sign als can be evaluated. The micro p ho n e vo lume durin g this setup mo de is the same as the P RES E

This so urce then o verrides the backgro un d music an d the vo lume level in creases sign ifican tly. When the jukebo x fin

39、 - ishes p layin g, backgro un d music return s, p layin g at its o rigin al level. The bass an d treble fun ctio n s wo rk in a sim- ilar way an d allo w differen t eq ualizatio n to be ap p lied to the differen t in p ut so urces. These settin gs are also made thro ugh the PRESET fun ctio n . The

40、adjustmen ts are made while the P M3180 is p layin g the in p ut so urce thro ugh the p articular amp bein g co n fig- ured. This makes it a simp le matter to evaluate if the set- tin g is p ro ducin g the desired results. O n e thin g to be aware o f is ho w the p reset levels react when the user c

41、han ges the vo lume, bass, o r treble. When the user makes a chan ge, it effects all the assign ed in p uts eq ually. Therefo re in creasin g the level o f the CD p layer by 3 vo lume step s will also make the jukebo x 3 step s lo uder when it beco mes active. Bass an d treble resp o n d in a simila

42、r fashio n . In this way, the relative level differen ces that were p reset between in p uts remain in tact.
