15、Fans.CN 收音机爱 好者资料库 1 Descr iption The Bogen Model TBA15 is a 15- watt Paging/ Talk Back amplifier which complies with Par t 68 of FCC r ules. The unit per mits two- way communication between a telephone handset, and one or mor e paging zones. The TBA15 senses and automatically switches the dir ectio
16、n of conver sation fr om telephone to loudspeaker without the use of r elays or other moving par ts. Contr ol of speech dir ection is maintained at the telephone handset. Contr ols ar e pr ovided to adjust the switching sensitivity, switching delay, and loudspeaker and talk back (handset) volume lev
17、els. The TBA15 has a talk back fr equency r esponse which has been shaped for maximum intelligibility and backgr ound noise r ejection. Switching delay time is adjustable fr om less than 50ms to gr eater than 0. 5 seconds to ensur e an intelligible flow of conver sation. A “power on” LED, cir cuit b
18、r eaker , and volume contr ol ar e located on the fr ont panel. A r ecess in the panel, pr otected by a r emovable cover , houses the 600- ohm tr ansfor mer - coupled telephone line input, 25V and 70V constant voltage outputs, and muting ter minals (for one- way paging) . Contr ols to adjust sensiti
19、vity, switching delay and talk back volume ar e also located within the panel r ecess. The amplifier oper ates fr om a 120 volt, 60 Hz, AC sour ce. A pr ess- to- r eset cir cuit br eaker pr otects the unit fr om excessive cur r ent flow. Safe Oper ating Ar ea (SOA) and ther mal pr otection safeguar
20、d the output device. The unit is finished in textur ed black enamel and mounts easily on a wall backboar d or in standar d 19” equipment r acks. Mounting Avoid pr oximity to heat sour ces and str ong magnetic fields. Pr ovide for adequate ventilation for chassis heat diss
22、ipation. To eliminate possible cr osstalk inter fer ence, do not r un input and output lines close together , and r oute thr ough separ ate knockouts on the ter minal str ip cover . For Wall-mounted installation, set the 2 top scr ews 18- 5/ 16” apar t, allowing the scr ew heads to pr otr ude 1/ 8”
23、to 1/ 4”. Fit the chassis onto the scr ew heads at the keyhole slots and position the two bottom scr ews. Complete the installation by tightening all scr ews secur ely. For best suppor t, use self- fastening har dwar e when mounting the unit to plaster boar d or similar thin mater ials. The unit wei
24、ghs 7 pounds. ForRack-mounted installation, install the unit facing into the r ack. A blank panel may be used to cover the exposed r ear sur face of the amplifier . Secur e the unit and blank panel with the same scr ews. Power and Gr ounding The AC line cor d is ter minated in a thr ee- pr ong plug,
25、 which should be plugged into a thr ee- wir e, gr ounded outlet. I t is impor tant to gr ound the amplifier pr oper ly. “Pigtail” adapter s may be used only when pr oper ly connected to a gr ounded outlet. A fr ont panel LED illuminates when power is applied to the unit. Connections All connections
26、to the TBA15 ar e made thr ough a scr ew ter minal str ip, located within a r ecess on the amplifier fr ont panel. Keyhole slots on the r ecess cover allow for quick access to ter minal connections. Knockouts ar e pr ovided on the cover to admit wir ing. Run input and output wir ing thr ough separ a
27、te knockouts. Telephone Line The TEL LI NE ter minals ar e a 600- ohm tr ansfor mer - balanced telephone side connection (dr y signal only, no loop cur r ent) . I n typical applications with a single- paging zone, this line inter faces with a station por t or tr unk por t of an in- house telephone s
28、ystem (via the Bogen Model TAMB2 Telephone Access Module, or other suitable inter face) and is r eached by dialing a number r eser ved for paging. Loudspeaker s The TBA15 pr ovides 25V and 70V constant voltage speaker outputs for balanced systems. Use two- conductor shielded cable with insulation ov
29、er the shield. Connect one conductor to the 25V or 70V ter minal and the other conductor to the COM ter minal. Connect the cable shield to the GND ter minal. The total speaker load should not exceed 15 watts. Mute The TBA15 may be configur ed for unidir ectional (telephone to loudspeaker ) oper atio
30、n, if desir ed, by connecting the +MUTE ter minal to the MUTE ter minal. The +MUTE ter minal is a cur r ent limited (by a 1 kilohm r esistor ) 15 volt supply pr ovided pr imar ily to contr ol the talk back mute featur e; however , it may be used to supply power to auxiliar y equipment (e. g. , TAMB2
31、 exter nal VOX enable) . The MUTE ter minal is the talk back mute contr ol ter minal. The talk back featur e will be defeated if +5V DC or gr eater (r efer enced to the GND ter minal of the TBA15) is applied to this ter minal. 32、he loudspeaker . Clockwise r otation of the contr ol incr eases the level; counter clockwise r otation decr eases the level. Talkback Volume Adjusts the talk back volume level in the handset ear piece. Clockwise r otation incr eases the level; counter clockwise r otation decr eases the level. Switch
33、ing Sensitivity Adjusts the point at which the VOX cir cuit will switch fr om talk back to talk modes. Clockwise r otation incr eases sensitivity; counter clockwise r otation decr eases sensitivity. Switching Delay Adjusts the r elease time of the VOX cir cuit, allowing for shor t pauses between wor
34、 ds without causing the unit to switch to the talkback mode in the middle of a sentence. Clockwise r otation incr eases the delay; counter clockwise r otation decr eases delay. Configur ations Remote Pr ivacy: Any r emote speaker may be modified for pr ivacy (see Figur e 2) . When SW1 is open, pagin
35、g announcements fr om the telephone handset ar e r eceived at the loudspeaker , but the telephone oper ator cannot monitor the loudspeaker ar ea. Single Zone Talk Back with TAMB2: A single paging zone, at the tr unk or station level, is configur ed using the Bogen Model TAMB2, Telephone Access Modul
36、e. Note that a power supply is r equir ed for both the tr unk and station access modes (see Figur e 3) . Multi-Zone Station Level Paging: The use of a Bogen ZPM3 Zone Paging Module per mits up to 3 zones of paging. Both one- way and two- way zones may be incor por ated in the configur ation. I nstal

38、ENT) . SW1 I S AN SPST SWI TCH. 3 Adjustment Pr ocedur es Contr ols ar e pr ovided to adjust the per for mance of the TBA15. Since these contr ols inter act with each other , the following pr ocedur e should be used to set the unit for optimum per for mance. Adjusting the per for mance of the TBA15
39、r equir es two people; one in the talk back zone having the highest backgr ound noise level, and one at the amplifier location. Due to the high sensitivity of a telephone mouthpiece, sound fr om a near by speaker may cause the TBA15 to switch. Do not adjust while using a speaker located near the tel
40、ephone. Not e: Wher e possibl e, use onl y one t ype of speaker in each z one. 41、hieved when speaker s ar e t apped cl oser t o t heir maximum power . 1. Set the SWI TCH SENS contr ol at its full counter clockwise position. 2. Set the SWI TCH DELAY contr ol at about mid- r otation. 3. Have the per son in the talk back zone speak in a voice loud enough to over come the ambient ba
42、ckgr ound noise level. Rotate the TALKBK VOL contr ol clockwise to obtain an acceptable volume level over the handset. The talk back volume level should be set on the low side to impr ove intelligibility. Higher settings will tend to muddy the sound, since the backgr ound noise will become a signifi
43、cant signal at the telephone. 4. With the per son in the paging zone silent, r otate the SWI TCH SENS contr ol clockwise until the switching becomes unstable (switches back and for th by itself) . Rotate the contr ol counter clockwise until the switching again becomes stable. At this point, the unit
44、 is cr itically stable; any noise on the telephone side will cause the unit to switch to the talk mode and any loud impulse- type noise at the loudspeaker may cause the unit to switch to the talk back mode. 5. With the per son in the talk back zone speaking, r otate the SWI TCH SENS contr ol counter
45、 clockwise so that the unit does not switch. 6. Have the per son in the talk back zone make loud impulse noises that may be char acter istic of the envir onment (door slamming, machine noises, etc. ) . I f necessar y, make additional adjustments to the SWI TCH SENS contr ol so that the unit does not
46、 switch momentar ily to the talk mode. 7. Speak into the telephone handset in a nor mal paging voice. The TBA15 should switch to the talk mode (switching will be appar ent by the total absence of backgr ound noise in the handset ear piece) . I f the unit does not switch, incr ease the sensitivity by
47、 r otating the SWI TCH SENS contr ol clockwise until switching becomes consistent. Recheck the units r esponse to impulse noises, making sur e that the per son in the talk back zone is not unchar acter istically close to the loudspeaker . 8. To set the switching delay, star t a moder ately fast alte
48、r nate count between the telephone side and the talk back zone. Adjust the SWI TCH DELAY contr ol so that the complete r esponse fr om the talk back zone can be hear d. (Clockwise r otation minimizes delay, counter - clockwise r otation incr eases delay. ) Then, while speaking into the telephone han
49、dset, check the delay to ensur e it will allow shor t pauses between wor ds without switching into the talk back mode. Adjust for a slightly longer delay if the unit switches between wor ds.
