Forusers in the U.K.:please follow theinstructions on page 2.APowerBefore connecting the AC powe

5、r cord to thewall outlet, ensure that all other connections have been made.WARNING! For optimal performance,use only theoriginal power cable.Never make or change any connectionswith the power switched on.BAntennas Connection Connect the supplied AM loop antenna and FMantenna to the respective termin

21、be cut off and an appropriateplug fitted in its place.If the mains plug contains a fuse, this shouldhave a value of 5 Amp. 22、ld it beinserted into a 13 Amp socket elsewhere.How to connect a plugThe wires in the mains lead are coloured with the following code:blue = neutral (N),brown = live (L).As these colours may not correspond with thecolour markings identifying the terminals inyour plug,proceed as follows:Connect the b

23、lue wire to the terminalmarked N or coloured black.Connect the brown wire to the terminalmarked L or coloured red.Do not connect either wire to the earthterminal in the plug,marked E (or e) orcoloured green (or green and yellow).Before replacing the plug cover, make certainthat the cord grip is clam

27、IONS AND CONTROLS2 - 4Radio reception is poor.Recording or playback cannot be made.The system does not react when buttonsare pressed.Sound cannot be heard or is of poorquality.The left and right sound outputs arereversed.The remote control does not functionproperly.The timer is not working.Not all l

28、ighted buttons are showing light.The Clock/Timer setting is erased. The system displays featuresautomatically.If the signal is too weak,adjust the antenna orconnect an external antenna for betterreception. Increase the distance between the Mini HiFiSystem and your TV or VCR.Clean deck parts,see “Mai

29、ntenance”.Use only NORMAL (IEC I) tape.Apply a piece of adhesive tape over the missingtab space.Remove and reconnect the AC power plug andswitch on the system again. Adjust the volume.Disconnect the headphones. Check that the speakers are connected correctly.Check if the stripped speaker wire is cla

30、mped.Check the speaker connections and location.Select the source (CD 1/2/3 or TUNER,forexample) before pressing the function button(,).Reduce the distance between the remotecontrol and the system. Insert the batteries with their polarities(+/-signs) aligned as indicated.Replace the batteries.Point

31、the remote control directly towards the IRsensor.Set the clock correctly.Press and hold CLOCKTIMER to switch on the timer.If recording or tape dubbing is in progress,stoprecording. Press DIM to select DIM OFF display mode.Power has been interrupted or the power cordhas been disconnected.Reset the cl

32、ock/timer.Press and hold on the system to switch offthe demonstration.ProblemSolutionMaintenanceCleaning the Cabinet Use a soft cloth slightly moistened with a mild detergent solution.Do not use a solutioncontaining alcohol,spirits,ammonia or abrasives.Cleaning Discs When a disc becomes dirty,clean

33、it with a cleaning cloth. Wipe the disc from the centre out. Do not wipe in circular motion. Do not use solvents such asbenzene, thinner, commerciallyavailable cleaners,or antistatic spray intended foranalogue records. Cleaning the disc lens After prolonged use, dirt or dust mayaccumulate at the dis

34、c lens.To ensure goodplayback quality, clean the disc lens with PhilipsCD Lens Cleaner or any commercially availablecleaner. Follow the instructions supplied withcleaner.Cleaning the Heads and the Tape PathsToensure good recording and playback quality,clean the heads Aand B, the capstan(s) C,and pre

35、ssure roller(s) Dafter every 50 hoursof tape operation.Use a cotton swab slightly moistened withcleaning fluid or alcohol. You also can clean the heads by playing acleaning tape once.Demagnetising the headsUse a demagnetising tape available at yourdealer.WARNINGUnder no circumstances should you try

36、to repair the system yourself,as this willinvalidate the warranty.Do not open the system as there is a risk of electric shock.If a fault occurs,first check the points listed below before taking the system for repair.Ifyou are unable to remedy a problem by following these hints,consult your dealer or

37、Philips for help.“NO DISC” is displayed.“DISC NOT FINALIZED” is displayed.Insert a disc.Check if the disc is inserted upside down.Wait until the moisture condensation at the lenshas cleared.
