23、to connect a plugThe wires in the mains lead are coloured with the following code:blue = neutral (N),brown = live (L).As these colours may not correspond with thecolour markings identifying the terminals inyour plug,proceed as follows:Connect the blue wire to the terminalmarked N or coloured black.C

24、onnect the brown wire to the terminalmarked L or coloured red.Do not connect either wire to the earthterminal in the plug,marked E (or e) orcoloured green (or green and yellow).Before replacing the plug cover,makecertainthat the cord grip is clamped over the sheathof the lead - not simply over the t

28、stened with a milddetergent solution.Do not use a solutioncontaining alcohol,spirits,ammonia or abrasives.Cleaning DiscsWhen a disc becomes dirty,clean it with a cleaning cloth. Wipe the disc from the centre out. Do not wipe in a circularmotion.Do not use solvents such asbenzene, thinner,commerciall

29、yavailable cleaners,or antistatic sprayintended foranalogue records. Cleaning the disc lensAfter prolonged use, dirt or dust mayaccumulate at the disc lens.Toensure goodplayback quality, clean the disc lens with PhilipsCD Lens Cleaner or any commercially availablecleaner. Follow the instructions sup

30、plied with thecleaner.Cleaning the Heads and the Tape PathsToensure good recording and playback quality,clean the heads A, the capstan(s) B, andpressure roller(s) Cafter every 50 hours oftape operation.Use a cotton swab slightly moistened withcleaning fluid or alcohol.You also can clean the heads by

31、 playing acleaning tape once.CCBBADemagnetising the headsUse a demagnetising tape available at yourdealer.TroubleshootingWARNINGUnder no circumstances should you try to repair the system yourself,as this will invalidate thewarranty.Do not open the system as there is a risk of electric shock.If a fau

32、lt occurs,first check the points listed below before taking the system for repair.If youare unable to remedy a problem by following these hints,consult your dealer or service centre.ProblemSolutionCD OPERATION“NO DISC”is displayed.Insert a disc.Check if the disc is inserted upside down.Wait until th

33、e moisture condensation at the lenshas cleared.Replace or clean the disc, see “Maintenance”.“DISC NOT FINALIZED”is displayed.Use a finalised CD-R(W) or CD-R.TroubleshootingRADIO RECEPTIONRadio reception is poor.If the signal is too weak,adjust the antenna orconnect an external antenna for better rec
