Investigation ,showed that this was caused by a combination of two things:

12、(a) The low ends of the primary and secondary of the loop antenna were reversed, so that the low -end of the primary was connected to the AVC bus. (b) A grounded antenna lead was connected to the antenna terminal on the back of the receiver. This placed 110 volts on the grid of the I -F tube, drawin

13、g sufficient current to burn aut the secondary of the 1st I -F transformer, and also the IF bias resistor. The remedy is to re -wire the loop antenna correctly as shown in the Service Data. The low -end of the primary should be connected through the .1 mfd. capacitor to chassis, and the low -end of
