The

2、T163 has the capability of being upgraded through the serial port using a personal computer. The software is compatible with Windows 95, 98, ME, NT4, 2000, and XP. Locate the RS-232 port shown here on the rear panel of the unit. See page 2 for instructions. Contact: NAD Electronics International 633

Use a RS-232 (serial) cable to connect your PC to the back of the unit to be upgrad

4、ed. It does not matter which COM port of your PC that you attach it to. 2. Turn the unit on. 3. Run the upgrade program on your PC. 4. Click on the button on the software. 5. The software will auto-detect the unit and the COM port that its on. If this stage fails, please ensure that that the serial

5、cable is attached properly to both the PC and the unit, and that the unit is powered on. 6. Please do not shut off power to the unit during the upgrade process, unless instructed to by the program. 7. Follow directions as per the program. Note that depending on the type of micro-controller inside th

6、e unit, you may have to turn the unit off and then back on by using the power switch at the back, at certain times, as instructed to by the program. 8. Once the unit has been upgraded successfully, please power the unit off using the power switch at the back. 9. In order to ensure that the unit oper

7、ates properly, please do a reset of the unit. First turn the power to ON (not STANDBY). The unit is reset by holding down VIDEO and TONE DEFEAT buttons simultaneously for North American (AH) units, VIDEO and TONE CONTROL for European (C) units. 10. On the software, you may click on the button to re-start the upgrade process for another unit, as per your needs.
